Its just so strange to me that black celebrities don't get together, and help build up Africa. Why can't Jay Z, Kanye, Beyonce, Diddy, Oprah and all these other millionaires/billionaires get together, buy some land in Africa, build some infrastructure, neighborhoods, schools, and shyt like that? I mean would that be impossible!?!?

Why don't you do it?

There's a tendency for AfAm expats in Africa to live like the very rich in African countries, contributing to wealth inequality within these countries. One can hope that they don't fall into the culture of 'big-man' politics and corruption which hinders development in many countries.

That's what I would like to avoid, succumbing to capitalism which has crippled us as black Americans. Ideally I'd like to give back if I were out there.

Africans are very tribal they would see you as an outsider especially since your tribe comes from another continent far away from them. When push comes to shove they start blaming crap on african americans.

Lol...you have to realise sub Africans have a totally different notion of race/cultural identity where tribal and ethnic affiliation is more important than the colour of your skin. And also most pure Africans consider anyone with cac blood (aka most New World blacks) as non black. It's almost the reverse one drop rule out there. A Luo Kenyan even told me most of his people consider highlander Ethiopians( who btw lived in the Africa for tens of thousands of years) as foreign invaders.
