All you hear in the media is the Democrats are going to do a lot for the Latino community. Because Latino voted more for Obama than Romney. Last I checked, African Americans voted more for Obama than Latinos and the Dems are not doing shyt for African Americans.

Would not help boycotting the Democratic party when in doing so strengthens a party that has shown nothing but contempt and loathing for black people.

Latinos are a battleground . They're culturally more conservative like blacks but the GOP's attitudes toward non-whites turns them off. You should not be surprised that Dems are making a beeline toward the hispanic community; they're the fastest growing demographic and for democrats they represent a growing opportunity to swing the southern states that are always red. Meanwhile they have AA's on lock because of Obama, so I don't see why this is a surprise.

Moreover.... What does the african american community want specifically from Democrats. Or rather what do YOU want?

Let's not pretend AA's didn't vote overwhelmingly Democrat before Obama.

I half agree with this. Democrats have taken advantage of the Black vote but this is partly our fault as well. We are not unified enough as a people to tap into our own power. The Latinos have a definite agenda and they stick to it. They have a solid plan on how to use this to their advantage. We don't, we hold Obama's feet to the fire with no real plan but we give our senators and congressmen no heat. We could've developed an agenda and never got around to it. If you ask a Latino, what their agenda is, you typically get a bunch of similar answers, Immigration reform, jobs, and education. If you ask a Black person, what is the Black agenda it's a million different things or even worse they look like :dwillhuh:

I feel for y'all sometimes. You're in a lose-lose situation it seems.

You guys run from the GOP and conservatives due to their racist policies, but in doing so, you become a guarantee vote for the Democrats, which lessens your bargaining power. Democrats don't really have to work for the black vote.

Do you think the cycle can be broken?

Yes and no, we can go two routes. We can split off and become independents or even venture back into the Republican party. But that would take several election cycles for that to work. I think the better, solution that will bring results more quickly, would be to come to a consensus on the top 3-5 issues plaguing us in America, then we actually put this on paper and make that our manifesto. We then need to make our presence known in Washington by inserting some new blood into the Congressional Black Caucus, and reinvigorate our activities through the NCAAP as well as perhaps starting some new organization. Just for starters.

I think first black people have to declare ideological independence from the Democratic Party and liberal ideology

Like I said a couple of weeks ago, black people and especially black leaders have outsourced the "black agenda" to the democratic party so that if right now your idea was implemented the commission would come out with ideas that are taken straight from the democratic party platform

What party do you see yourself voting for in the 2016 presidential election?
