Yes. Possible African contact does not mean Indigenous tribes were African though. Europeans knew who negros were before ever sailing to the Americas. When they got her they did not refer to the people they found as Negros AND there were Moors with the Europeans who came so if anything the Moors would be the ones who called out these people as being Negros.

People are confusing (or manipulating) there being indigenous Americans who had dark skin as being the same as the Africans who were called Negro.
I’m not taking about possible contact I’m talking about groups of people settling here. We don’t know what they referred to the people as when the Europeans got here. Unless you believe the narrative that they thought they were in India

I’m not here to debate. My grandfather is native and black. He knows the whole family history and they were never slaves.

You nikkas are the "flat earth society" of black history. These threads pop up every so often, and get slapped down everytime with facts. Enough of this nonsense.

What, are you so desperate to not be descended from African slaves and traumatized by that you have to just make shyt up now?

How can be two different things? If he doesnt come from slaves then he is native and native or an immigrant lol

That’s my point. He’s black AND AT THE SAME TIME a native of this country that came from natives of this country. People can be both. I’m not here to debate. I knew my great grandmothers. Very native.

It’s actually people that believe all our history in this country originated in slavery that are traumatized. You really ththink Africans didn’t come here first?

Your speaking of fhe term native in a racial/ethnic context.

If blacks are natives you dont specifiy “and” between the terms, because “and” means black and native are two different thingdls.

Was your family some of th last people brought to america on the Clotilda after the slave trade like Cudjoe Lewis.:ohhh: He was in Alabama also.

Not at all. My ancestors are not rare. Most of Black Americans have 3rd and 4th Great Grandparents straight from Africa. Most of my paternal ancestors came over during the early/mid 1700's till they banned the African trade in 1807.

American “thick”? Lol bantu women in southern africa are thicker than modern day west africans and AA women
I'm pretty sure he is talking about west african muscle structure. not all bantus built the same. A lot of East African bantus have nilotic mixes in them we aren't pure. Hence more slender built

South African Bantus don't have the same muscle structure and physical built as West Africans neither. But that Bantu ass still springs forth in all these demographics.

Not entirely historically correct, but really doesn't matter in the long scheme of things. regardless of origin fact is AA are Black ppl native to the US, and whatever spiritual re-connection, is just that! If Black Americans choose to anchor themselves completely in their own American traditions they've had for hundreds of years, who is anyone, especially one NOT native Black to tell them otherwise?!:hubie:

It’s not about distancing ourselves from “Africa” it’s about finding out the complete truth about who we are and how we got here.

There is no disputing that “Africans” were bought here as slaves, but that’s not the only way we got here.

People with Africoid features have been coming to and settling these lands for thousands of years.

That’s all I’m saying but I forget this board is full of emotional nikkas with the reading comprehension of a 5th grader.
We already know so called black people have traveled and settled all over the world but there is a real movement brewing that claims the slave trade never happened. I thought you were one of those nikkas.
