At least some African leaders are trying to practice group economics (lowering trade barriers between their countries, enhancing infrastructure) and are trying to finesse capital out of the Chinese to do so

You can't really compare African-Americans to Igbos on the group economics front. 1/5 of our population was killed during the Nigerian Civil War. Today, we economically run SMEs in West Africa.

I think my posts on the Coli have illustrated that I'm Igbo first. In regards to wider pan-Africanism, I'd like a Biafran state to advocate on behalf of Af-Ams and other black peoples in the diaspora but I don't want to be burned like how Nigeria was burned after spending $1 billion on the ANC. Posts from individuals like Poitier make that seem likely.
Perhaps racial unity has always been a fraud. It's certainly been a fraud for Europeans and East Asians.
If we have mutual interests, sure we'll unite to defeat that mutual foe. But after, it's a dog-eat-dog world.
