Late af but what's been up with Aew these days. Hearing a lot drama. Someone givee a break down of this Punk fiasco. Is it legit or a work?

1. Hangman Page takes a veiled shot at punk saying hes responsible for Colt Cabana being banished. Folks are split on whether it was to advance a match or he was going into business for himself.

2. Punk hurts his foot.

3. Punk returns and calls out Page knowing he wont come out, definitely going into business for himself. And blames hangman's shot about Cabana for it.

4. Punk cuts the best promo in AEW history at the media scrum. Accurately refers to the Elite and their fans as a niche internet audience. Also calls MJF a prick and says he's tired of wrestling kids that thing they know it all (ignoring the fact he was that same kind of prick when he was their age).

Btw Punk was an absolute hoe for bringing up Colt Cabana’s MOM for no reason at the presser. He legit needs his ass beat again, by any of these guys.

If everything was one giant elaborate work, it's having the exact opposite effect. Admittedly I've been patient with defending AEW given the company just turned three, but they really need to get their shyt in order and bring some structure to the company. Not just for the sake of the TV product, but for the fact that Warner Discovery is watching this unfold as a new TV contract negotiations, that could be triple what they are making now, are set to start taking place. Also doesn't help that Triple H is starting to improve the WWE product and fix that ship to a degree.

Their biggest PPV buy rate was for Punk's debut match. Haven't seen the numbers for this weekend, but that 2021 All Out had 40K more buys than any other PPV they had. I can't imagine 40K more people were that excited to see Omega and Christian main event.
