98,000 is fantastic given that it was AEW's first show, they promoted the entire show on social media, and they don't have a television program yet.

I'll be very interested to see if they'll be able to keep their momentum going into All Out. Both show and business wise, they've given themselves a nice head start on that front with DoN.

The main thing that should matter is attendance, especially if they want to tour. Money marks aren’t gonna be flying in every show. Hopefully they continue to make big shows a minimal thing; one bimonthly is good.

TV tapings should be like NXT/TNA.

It's not surprising, because you can have bad events on a card, but Double or Nothing had an excitement to it that made people want to buy the Pay-Per-View.

Right now for World Wrestling Entertainment, there's no real excitement you know what you're going to get, so that's why the product is stale and no one really cares for it.

Personally I don't think AEW should care about WWE; all the problems they are having right now is internal.

Now to be fair, I didn't watch WWE after AEW, but it seems like Vince didn't have a firing shot back from what I heard.

A bit surprised in a sense, but maybe age has really gotten to him.

Yeah, I wonder where they’re going to tour and if they’re going to be live every week on TV. Obviously, they’ll do well in the big markets like NYC, Chicago and LA but they can’t run those cities every week.

They've talked about doing a PPV in the UK, and a deal with ITV - I could see tapings out there, maybe :yeshrug:

From WON
At this point, Double or Nothing is estimated at somewhere between 98,500 and 113,000 buys worldwide. The best estimate has U.S. PPV buys at around 71,000, with almost an exact 50/50 split between television and B/R Live. That’s notable because nobody does a 50/50 split. The biggest split I’ve heard of for a television PPV and streaming was Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov, which was an 80/20 split in favor of television. Usually it’s closer to 85/15.

What’s also notable is that in the U.K., the split was closer to 75/25 in favor of television, but in the U.K. the heavy marketing was on ITV 4 for ITV Box Office and there wasn’t really much of a push for streaming PPV, but still a solid percentage did get it streaming.

Pretty amazing.

It's wild since the only thing with numbers you can look at (until TV starts) is their YouTube stuff & outside of random spikes their generally doing under 200k views on the last 10 before the PPV episodes of BTE & Road To... (the last 4 Road To... episodes before the PPV jumped way up though including one that randomly got 975K when the next highest was 422K views when they announced Dustin as Codys opponent) episodes, so they got a little over half the people who watch their YouTube stuff every week to order the PPV :ehh:

Numbers were good, impressive for a first PPV from a brand new company. They've got a chance to do some big things if they can make the most out of this. I hope to see properly built storylines, fresh matches, talent being able to build momentum, a concise TV show that would be entertaining for the duration, if possible no adverts during matches, save it till after or before. Less limitations, more heartfelt promos, excitement, charecter building, different styles of wrestling and a lot more. They have the opportunity to mould this however they want. I hope they do a good job.
