The majority of Gamefaqs message forum posters still live at home with their parents
Poll of the Day - GameFAQs
slightly over 50% admit to living with parents
Poll of the Day - GameFAQs
almost 65% of the posters there are 21 and up if you add in the 17-20 age group its 80% of all posters

guys are really doing their job to support that gamers are basement dwellers that still live with mom and dad stereotype.

Many of us in our 20's still live at home. I don't, but many of my friends do.

It might be different in England, but unless you stump up at least 10-15 grand deposit (and in London/surrounding area, this will get you a 1 bedroom flat in a non exclusive area) or pay extortionate rent (meaning its hard to save the deposit), you aint leaving the nest lol.

There is hardly any council housing available anymore, so unless you knock up some girl and she manages to get a decent council flat, that option is closed as well.

This generation got fukked.

I still live at home with parents and I'm 26. I work full-time and I can move out anytime I want, but I chose to stay because rent is ridiculous in NYC and my parents are retiring in a year or two, in which case they will be moving to another state/country and the house will be mine. Whats the point of moving out to pay rent, when I'll own by default within two years. I'm just stackin bread in the meantime :win:

Thats easier said than done. Everybody says this and a year or less later they end up right back at the parents house. Save yourself the embarassment, and make sure your career is popping and money is guaranteed to where you aint living paycheck to paycheck when you move out. Just my opinion, but if you don't have at least 7-10K saved up as "in case shyt get real out chea" money and have a stable check coming every week or two where you can pay all your bills to where you still can save at least $300 monthly, you don't need to be moving out.

Also, if your in a major metropolitan area such as NYC where rent is like $1000 to plus a month for one bedroom. When you move out, you'll most likely have roommates. People, in general, are disgusting and unreliable. Moving in with someone makes you reliant upon them to have their portion of the rent. When they fukk up the rent money, as they usually do, ya'll both assed out. I've seen it many times with friends and strangers over the years, which is another reason why I was never in a rush to move out. Also, me personally, I got a thing against paying 'rent'. IMO, if I ain't paying to 'own' something then its a waste of money to be contributing money toward it.

I have my own room, my parents respect my privacy, they are upstairs and Im on main level. I have zero problems with them, we get along great, I don't have any house 'rules' to follow, I'm grown. I have my own car that I paid for and pay all my own bills, plus contribute money to the overall household. I do my own thing for they most part. They ain't all up in my business. Im not dependent on them to survive, they know this. Its not like Im leechin off of them and treated as a child.

I did the same shyt and all I gotta say is listen to the homie, Dark Knyt above. I moved right back in with my moms until I was finished with school and moved back out.

I'm 25 by the way. I still would have been there if my brother and I didn't make a deal.

Just like the homie DK said. I live in Brooklyn and believe it or not, rent is type expensive. I'd much rather wait til I got all of my ducks in a row before I move out. I'm in no rush.n:yeshrug:
