Chicago - SouthSide - Wild 100s
Big Mama the oldest of 7 siblings and from Brookhaven mississippi. She left to head for Chicago when she was 16 and pregnant with her oldest child and my aunt. Then basically set up shop here in the chi.....The baby sister from brookhaven also moved to chicago about 15 years after big mama left. Other than that, everybody else still down there and regularly keeps in contact with us. We use to go down every summer but stopped doing that about 10 years ago. I went to Miss Valley State in itta bena and stayed the holidays other than christmas with the fam down there for the 2 1/2 years I lived in mississippi for schoo

The migrations are extremely predictable

LA, MS, AL ➡️ Chicago/Detroit/Midwest

GA/FL/NC/SC➡️NYC/Tri-state area

TX➡️Cali
That's seems to be the case. Train routes pretty much dictated where most people went.

There is a ton of overlap though . Ie AR Ms and LA are heavily represented in both the west coast and the midwest

Ga and AL for the midwest (esp. Michigan and ohio) and the east coast
