No lies told

Wade Phillips was brought in to run the defense.

They went to the playoffs in 2009.

In 2010 the final 5 games before he got fired, the defense gave up 34, 24, 41, 35, 45 points. The team quit on Wade so he deserved to get fired. Even though the offense was meh at times, the defense under Wade Phillips didn't help. They gave up leads late in games, even though he had a prime DWare at his disposal and a decent defensive line. T.O. needs to fall back on that situation. If you want to talk coaches, Bill Parcells left prematurely because of T.O. :mjpls:

I agree Garrett should've been fired, but his logic is illogical.

I will say this much. THIS season will prove how good or bad Garrett truly is as a head coach.

Wade was brought in to be the head coach lol. But anyway, the records were the same just like TO said. He didn’t lie about anything regarding the situation

Um.. no. Garrett was hired BEFORE Phillips. They hired Philips because he ran the 3-4. Bill Parcells switched the defense to a 3-4 when he came in and they didn't want to changed it. That's why Phillips was hired. If they really hired him to be head coach, they would've let him pick his OC. The cowboys problems have always been defense. Even when Parcells was coaching, the defense gave up too many points. The offense has been rebuilt to protect the defense. And that may end up backfiring, if they don't score enough TD's.

Wade's defense in 2010 gave up more points that any team in cowboys history by the way.

I mean he did win coach of the year with a rookie QB. This season, will be the first where Garrett has been there longer than any other player. And the team is young. If they do good, Garrett will stay to reap the long term rewards. If he fukks it up, a new coach will be brought in to guide a young stacked team. :manny: It's a win win proposition.

Perhaps, but I’m not into debating scrubs too heavy. He said they had the same record and should’ve both been fired and that’s the facts :yeshrug:

TO was basically saying the offense in being stagnant and the predictability have all been the same.

What’s even crazier is the fact that Garrett gave these nikkas new playbooks after Wade was fired.

The offense did the defense no favors in 2010 either. The offense was pretty bad until wade was canned and all of a sudden it looked more explosive with Jon Kitna.

At any rate it’s ridiculous that nikkas still think garrett deserves another year. Dwayne Casey was coach of the year also; doesn’t mean jack shyt.

Garrett needs an excess of overly talented players to compensate for his lack of creativity and even when he does have this, the best we can do is the divisional round. What’s more is that we continue to stack the offense and leave the defense hanging with “projects.” Think about it: when was the last “project” we had on offense? Isaiah Stanback? Maybe you make a case for Gavin Escobar and Rico but it’s nothing like the defense never being drafted high. Even tho Sean Lee is that dude we took a gamble with his injury history and he’s had one season where he played 15 games. Randy Gregory immense talent but can’t put the weed away. Jaylon Smith talented but major injury. Matt Johnson never saw the field :bryan:

Meanwhile the offense gets all these All Pros in the draft (Dez, Tyron, Zack Martin, Trafks Frederick, Zeke all in the first round).

And replace him with who? At that point Romo was entrenched into Garrett's offense. Firing Garrett would basically mean starting over. And how many times has a HC been fired who came into the job at the beginning of a franchise QB's career. Romo and Garrett grew at the hip.

And it's why this season will make or break Garrett. Dak is still young so if Garrett gets fired, it won't hurt him too much. Garrett also has very little ties to the roster. Witten was basically the last one. The coaching staff has changed. Garrett and Linehan are on the hot seat whether they know it or not.

Honestly, THIS would've been the perfect offseason to let him go. Romo is gone. Witten is gone. You cut Dez. The roster is full of mostly young talent. Dak has 2 years left on his rookie contract. A perfect time to bring in a new coach with a new system to teach to a mostly young group of players. I would've picked a college coach. But.. alas, they fukked that up as well :francis:
