I don't know nothing about the players drafted so far. .

I only see two with a legit chance to start as rookies (LVE and Williams)

The tight end appears to be a younger version of Witten, so if Witten retires, I hope Gathers stays healthy and becomes the starter.

The wide receiver position is crowded so I will make a list
Austin - safe
Beasley - safe
Brown - not safe
Cannon - will get cut
Gallup - safe
Hurns - not safe
Lenoir - not safe
Switzer - safe
Thompson - safe
Williams - safe

So that's my 6 baring injuries in training camp/preseason.

This draft sucks, I'm sorry to say. I like the 2nd round pick. 3rd round maybe solid. LVE may be decent, but considering we could have gotten Derwin James for maybe giving up a 4th, then it really makes you think. 4th round and on have been nonentities.

I can see why Witten retired. There's no way we are winning anything soon. No reason taking a beating for more 8 and 8 seasons.

I don't know nothing about neither. Whichever one came from Jacksonville would be the one that's safe.

I get the idea of Austin, but I don't see them changing his position outright. Doesn't make sense. And who's spot is he going to take?

The problem is you have a punch of players that do specific things, but are not a jack of all trades. Switzer and Beasley do the same thing you would want Austin to do.

Playing time and production effect a players future contract. If I was Dallas I would move on from Williams as well. Better to start somewhat fresh. If they didn't bring back Butler and cut Dez then they might as well get rid of Williams....

Then again, maybe they're just waiting for him to be cleared medically. And Jason Witten sees the writing on the wall so maybe that's why he's looking to leave before he's next one to visit with Jerry Jones.

It's all best guess. If LVE can give the same production Hitches gave, I would be fine with it.

BUT they haven't done anything to address the middle of the defensive line, which will hurt everyone else on defense sooner or later.
