Adam Silver: League looking at remedies for players requesting trades early in their contract

Do you think a remedy exists to prevent early trade details?

Owners can’t just up and trade players then like Blake & Harrison Barnes or Demar. Also healthy players like Wall should not be held back because of a lack of trade offers
Held back from what exactly :jbhmm:

:childplease: I dont get it... when the players want quick trades to other teams it's a problem but marquee players that loved the team spent their entire career with them doing well in these cities for these teams get traded like playing cards by the owners no one says shyt...

Easy: a more intricate trade-kicker mechanism.

Demand a trade with 4 years left: 15% reduction in salary at detriment to player, benefit of team

Get traded with 4 years left: 15% increase in salary at detriment to team, benefit to player

And apply the same for players traded with 3 years left, 2 years left, etc.

Maybe this shouldn't be a league-wide mandate, but atleast give owners/players the ability to negotiate such in contracts, essentially eliminate blanket guaranteed money contracts

As a fan of basketball the SPORT I didnt like it . At first

But the nba is not just a sport. It’s entertainment and a business and I wish the players well.

These owners have no loyalty so why should the players . They’ve proven time and time again that they will do you wrong given the best possible scenario. So fukk ‘em :yeshrug: .

I think they should let it rock I think the pay off in ten years will be well worth it. I think players swapping teams frequently will shake up the game and nba. Just throwing out a hypothetical random names at the top of my head

imagine ja doesn’t win and leaves Memphis and links up with Zion and Tatum for the lakers and in the east we have luka , giannas and booker on the knicks and those teams spilt up and another team is in the finals . Next year it’s two totally diffenrt teams. Gms working overtime every off season putting together a roaster that can compete in this new marketplace . It will be a disaster and miracle and I like the idea of that chaos. No more runs where the same teams win over and over .

And just make incentives for the players who don’t swap teams and request trades

They also don't have to play him either.

If a team is willing to swallow the money Wall got to not use him, that's their business. Most teams wouldn't have the stomach for it.
