Lol wtf does marvel have as their vision for this movie?
Gonna have to offer it to the gawd Tommy Wiseau at this point
Another director,Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball/We're the Millers), passed on it. I hope Marvel is learning something from this. They go from Shaun of the Dead to Anchorman to Dodgeball...by this time next week the guy who directed Blended will be passing.

Director Peyton Reed and Writer Adam McKay Join Marvel's Ant-Man
When Marvel's "Ant-Man" hits theaters July 17, 2015, director Peyton Reed will help shepherd the hero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a cast led by Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, with writer Adam McKay contributing to the film's script.
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

I guess Marvel's offer was to low for McKay to consider directing but good enough to rewrite it. Peyton Reed is the director of such movies like Yes Man, The Break-Up and the all-time classic Bring It On.
The main reason they're tapping him though is because apparently he had a great take on the FF in the early 2000s and left the project due to creative differences and we got the Tim Story flicks.
I guess that's why he was the third, if not the fourth (!) choice to replace Wright on this movie.
I feel you. I'm not saying he's the right choice I'm just saying he has a history with comic book properties and has been hankering to do one. It's funny though how Adam McKay was too busy to direct it but he's free enough to write it. I think it's safe to say they're tossing Edgar Wright's vision, the vision they were so high on for almost 10 years, to the bushes with swiftness
Yeah, it's crazy how basically nothing of Wright's vision will be left after it's said and done.
My point is that Marvel has REPEATEDLY taken directors with no action/superhero/blockbuster experience and seen them put out very good films.
Jon Favreau went from Made and Elf to Iron Man
Joss Whedon went from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to THE AVENGERS
Shane Black went from Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang to Iron Man 3
So maybe we shouldn't jump to conclusions based on McKay's previous work.
I can't believe this needed explaining.
if there gonna make a movie about him they should introduce him to the screen with other heros so everybody can learn who he is
