Yeah a better manager is crucial. He is getting outclassed something serious this series. And I agree about the catcher position as well, hence why I was surprised they were in a rush to extend Flowers. Thing is will we spend the money needed to really become a contender? You can't do it through the farm system these days.

The Arsenal
You've gotta keep it in perspective though...the Dodgers are a much more talented team than the Braves. I don't feel he's been outclassed as much as we're just not on the same level as LA as a whole.

Flow is a good value signing, Suzuki probably isn't coming back and you can go after a young catcher with pop like Realmuto from the Marlins who's a FA after this yr

Braves have the #1 farm system in baseball...they've gotten back to the postseason off of the strength of that system so I do feel you can win through the farm system, but we do need upgrades. We'll have the money to spend this offseason, hopefully AA spends it wisely
and the astros became what they are because of their farm system. i think in baseball more than most you can develop a championship team from the farm/draft, especially with how long these players are under the control of teams once they make it to the bigs.

pleased with the season because i did not expect this so soon, but getting blanked in the opening 2 games hurts.

I think the other thing that people are forgetting is that these rebuilds take time. We're not a finished product yet. The Dodgers went to the World Series last year and are loaded, were not there yet and we shouldn't expect to be at this point

And BTW, Snit is coming back and should be Manager of the Year. He's very much like Dan Quinn where he's built a strong culture that his players respect even though they both aren't great in game, but we as Braves fans need to ease up off him a lil bit, trying to blame him for us being down 0-2 is disingenuous at best

I wouldn't mind Ron Washington being the new Manager, Biggest downfall with him
is he can't keep his nose clean (Figurative and Literal)

But lowkey I would be upset if Terry Penelton doesn't get the job
hes deserving of a Managers job in the MLB.

You realize Snit is going to be the manager with a new 2-3 year deal once this postseason is over? Ron Washington isn't getting the manager job

Just puttin the idea out there, Since yall were on the subject.

Completely understand why Snit will be with the team for next couple years
he coached a good bulk of the young talent in triple A ball.

Gaussman has been a better pitcher than Newk sinc he got to ATL...Newk has been a shell of himself since the All Star break
It's about matchups sometimes. Newc almost no hit them and pitched well in relief Thursday. Might as well go with him.
