I come from a family with generations of abuse and I'm terrified to have kids because I can't promise I could keep them safe from the things I went through. It's terrifying to see the same patterns of abuse manifest from generation to generation and no one can stop it.

I had repressed the abuse for years until i got pregnant with my daughter then i started having nightmares n flashbacks. I started therapy n speaking out about it. I slowly started to heal n refused to ever let it happen to her. I tried my best to protect her. No strange men around. No babysitter except for ppl i trusted. And i did pretty good up until last year when i was homeless n she was staying with a friend of mine i thought she would b safe with. We had a close call but the situation was handled immediately. She is 15 n so far ive done well protecting her.
