Thanks brehette..i appreciate it...me n my mother still get n2 it behind it cuz she feels i need 2 get over it smh ...its generational...it happened to her by her own brother but i refuse 2 accept that it happens in alot of families n i should just get over it...she doesn't want 2 accept the fact she failed 2 protect her child.

That "get over it" shyt is vile. It really is a perverse kind of defense mechanism to keep the parent safe from reliving the feelings of their abuse. I come from a family with generations of abuse and I'm terrified to have kids because I can't promise I could keep them safe from the things I went through. It's terrifying to see the same patterns of abuse manifest from generation to generation and no one can stop it.
