He got killed for talking down black people. You forgot that part? Where did Bron do that?

Kobe got killed for syaing he wasn't standing behind the Trayvon thing becuz he didn't know the facts and just becuz he was black he shouldn't have to support the issue. The shyt he said about us being a unit or unity didn't matter at all.

But I'll let you spin it becuz that's what you're best at.

As a black man wuth children you should keep facts on things like this

While do think your inital statement was a bit much, I now see where you're coming from and this is the truth. Anytime something happens to a kid, I'm paying closer attention becuz my mentality is that this could have been one of my kids.

This, Kobe was basically saying he didn't know what happened.

LeBron admitted that it was Jarrett Jack's idea to wear the I Can't Breathe shirts, so I'm not sure why more people aren't reaching out to Jack to make a stand. I know he isn't the biggest name and him protesting wouldn't make as much of a difference, but it's clear he has influence among his peers and he's obviously socially conscious about these things.

Fantastic post

Thanks breh. My parents were in the civil rights movement. They always sat me down and talked to me how they organized shyt back then. Everyone who was in the movement did their part. Even folks who weren't did their part and helped. No matter if you were poor, rich or middle class.

He is. But that shyt a huge cross to have homie. Like I said this ain't the 60s. When Ali took his stand folks all around the country sent him money (and letters as support). There were athletes right there with him behind him when he made his stance.

We damn well know Lebron make a stand aint no one standing behind him.

These punks in the league all about to eat good off of the cap increase which is directly because of revenue he, Wade and Bosh generated and ratings they gave ESPN by forming a super team. Yet jokers all over the league hated on dudes and they were left out in the cold.

Yet again these kats hated for years but about to rep the benefits from this new salary cap.

Also I want to point out something. Dave Zirin even brought this up years ago. During the civil unrest in the 60s the media and activist actually would ask white athletes and entertainers about the civil issues and if they would take a stand. Not all but some did......fast forward to today and the media and activist have dropped the ball on this very issue.

Think how many times issues concerning America and how black American entertainers are always asked to address this. But white entertainers are almost never asked shyt and get off on softball questions.

Edit- it is like black Americans are used as a gauge of America's moral conscious when it comes to social issues. You know they love to show black Americans as the symbol of forgiveness and spirituality like we all some magical negros.

You're coming off defensive even with knowledge of his "ignorance" and that's not cool.

I think these "activist" asking this of him are doing it in very poor taste. But why did he lie about not knowing much about the case? That's really what's bothering me. He knew all about Trayvon before Trayvon and Zimmerman were the most popular subjects in a America. I just don't understand this.

How will Lebron breaching his contract help anyone? Him speaking up might help but sitting out is just some childish behavior.
The owner of the team are the fans (who are all types of people) are the only ones that are affected by him sitting out.

i really used to dislike lebron (lakers/kobe fan) but over the years he has proven to be real as fukk. especially for someone who probably barely passed high school :wow:

probably in my top 5 favorite athletes. idgaf about his teams winning, but his outspokenness as probably led to the league sweeping him under the rug for curry. :francis:

Do you have any idea the type of publicity him sitting out over a controversial issue would bring? Not to mention the millions of stans he has that would cut their wrists if he asked them to. If LeBron did something like this and showed that it meant that much to him, people would follow.

Perhaps, it just seems weird to punish people who haven't got anything to do with it.

It's not as if the judge will say damn, Lebron isn't playing let's jack these dudes now.

And this is not a Cleveland problem, this is a US problem.

Lol at people who say it wouldn't make any difference.

:duck:
being that it already went through the legal proceeding, im not sure what it could accomplish

i mean the problem is a police-apologist prosecutor, and the people on the jury who said ":yeshrug: we arent charging". so they would have to like bring in a federal charge, which wouldnt be done because a cleveland player sat out

itd be a huge gesture but i feel like its unfair pressure. would i love to see him do it, absolutely but its tough

so lets just say he sat out games? and made a public statement saying why he was sitting out games?

would these people come out in vocal and tangible support if he started facing legal repercussions from the NBA and his own team? his own sponsors and so on

some of the same dudes in this thread who are trying to knock him will just as easily be up in another thread laughing if he faces sanctions because for whatever reason bron gets people all in their feelings

Is this case even a candidate for appeal?
thats the thing, it isnt. im pretty sure that the only thing that can happen is a federal probe
