Nah, the problem is Merchandise.
See Roman is pretty fukking cool, when he is himself, but WWE Creative is pushing him to be K-Mart Cool for the Kids/Ladies.
But see that's the problem, its a small sample just to get them to buy Reigns' gear and constantly pushing him over Braun and Rollins is grinding fans away.
So they trying to appease both sides, its not going to work, because they want an anti-hero thats a pure hero (in a PG enviroment that doesnt allow Anti-Heros) so they can make Cena cash off him.
There are those that never cared about him in the first place and they will never win over, but I have a female co-worker who was a huge stan for him because she says he's hot. Even she has turned on him and says she's tired of him. They aren't even booking him in a way to keep the fans he had, much less gain new ones. It's really fascinating.

With DB, there was an element of realism to the whole thing. Fan were genuinely displeased with how he was being booked and felt the company was holding down a guy they really wanted to see. The kayfabe aspect with Bryan vs The Authority came after the fact.
With Roman, that geuine galvanizing of the fanbase isn't going to happen because fans know he isn't being held down. On the contrary, they're mad because the company is pushing him too hard. As such, it just comes across like Roman is whining every week.
