Haven't watched tonight, but this shyt is bad man. I'm kinda contemplating on supporting the 'E to green light Russo's clown self back so we can at least get some nonsensical fukkery going over this repetitive trash. :mjcry:

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I think that I brought this up in another thread on Roman, but I remember that shoot that George Steele did where he talked about how they booked Andre/Warrior matches. Warrior would come in, clothesline, splash, 1-2-3, win, and run off, which would bring the ire of many crowds. Vince's reaction? "We're going to keep shoving it down their throat, until they like it." Some things never change.

The reason this worked with Daniel Bryan is cause he doesn't have the "typical" wrestler look and the Authority constantly put him down because of it and told him he wasn't big or strong enough to be "The guy". This was believable cause of Bryans size and look. It also worked cause the fans were on his side and it really had that "regular everyday guy against the corporate machine" feel.

None of that is there with Roman

They tried this

And he's a big guy who should embrace what he is and be comfortable with it....he would have much better luck recreating the Diesel character Kevin Nash had

He's not small like Rey or Daniel Bryan where he would even look like an underdog

Austin did this to an extent but he also was an anti hero who cursed and said things people wish they could say and do to their boss, because he was still a pretty big dude himself and he embraced his bad ass look and created the attitude for it.

The Rock was an egotistical funny guy who created great insults and catch phrases and it was an exaggeration of who he was in real life

For any wrestler to work it has to be an extension of who they are themselves for it to be believable. Even the 80s superhero era you still saw Hogan Savage Warrior still be themselves

Also, in real life, they really were trying to keep Bryan down. He was supposed to face Sheamus at WrestleMania until the fans made them change their plans. Roman has main evented four straight WrestleManias (not even Cena has done that) and won the world title multiple times. Plus, we know Roman is seen as "Vince's boy" backstage so nothing about this is believable at all.

Add to the fact that the writing is awful right now, and I can't even imagine anything from this storyline working out.

How he can combat the negative fan reaction to himself:

"I think the way I can fight is to just continue to do what I do – to continue to show up.

And they really didnt want him to be champ

He had about 5 months where he was the most over guy but booked to lose in all main events, then pushed down to a midcard role

Its the dumbest logic

70 wrestlers continue to show up, showing up to your job isnt going to make the fans like you when 70 other people do the same shyt, get paid less and many are much better at the job

The fact that they're scrambling around trying to think of ways to get him over with the fans tells you that he shouldn't be the guy.

You shouldn't have to trick fans to get the top guy over....he's going to organically become popular with the fans. This was the case with Austin, Hogan, Rock, Bryan...whoever.

Vince needs an intervention.
