I still marvel at the compositions, transitions, attention to detail on this album.

The fusion of guitars in Ain’t That Easy...

Kendra’s faint vocals in The Charade... Pino’s bassline in the 2nd verse... that small crescendo after the bridge

The background conversations in Back To The Future... an actual throwback feeling

Pretty sure Betray My Heart is from 2001-03. The God Spanky blessing us from the gates

This album is limitless. I still can’t listen enough. Sooooo many layers to this record.

Voodoo has been my go to album to start the day for the past few days.
decided to switch it up this morning and played this...it felt like I was listening to it for the first time. phenomenal album.

The Charade and Another Life are special.

does anybody happen to have a link to his documentary from last year ?

Word, this joint is nice :ohlawd:

Man, I need to go back and really listen to this album again. It's been a month or so since I have.

I think my favorite song would be Betray My Heart

The beginning of that track is something out of a Fellini film :mjcry:

Then it leads to something beautiful (the actual song)

EDIT: Sorry I got that track mixed up with "Really Love" :snoop:

I remember having Really Love on bootleg years before it came out, but it was only a snippet. :wow:

I use to play that joint over and over again. I was like "D'angelo is on another whole level right now, compared to what everyone else is doing in music at the moment". :wow:

6 years later and we still talking about this album like it came out. D'Angelo did it again. See, he is a TRUE artist. He doesn't put music out just to sell records or to just keep his fans entertained but he wants that shyt to really be good. That's how its supposed to be. He has 3 albums in 25 years and yet all of them are unforgettable.
