i'm confused
Word, I hear you, bruh
For one moment in time, Voodoo started becoming my favorite D'angelo album but the more I go back and listen to Brown Sugar over the years, that's the album of his I enjoy listening to the most and that I like the most.
The writing and production on Brown Sugar was just perfect. Voodoo relies more on the production than it does actual writing IMO. But, that is the cool thing about the Voodoo album, it's more like a jam session that became an album. Each song centers around a really tight groove with lyrics and there.
I just feel like with Brown Sugar you get that and more the writing seems to be more on the surface. Plus, I just find myself enjoying more songs on Brown Sugar than I do on Voodoo now. Whenever i listen to Brown Sugar, I always listen to that album from start to finish whereas with Voodoo now, I skip a couple of joints.
