Really liked the pilot. It kind of feels like something Issa Rae would've done if she had a network TV deal instead of HBO.

Plus, I like Quinta alot.
The student's momma was thick and cute, though
glad they ultimately portrayed her as a good, responsible mom, too, and not some hood booger.

I understand they want to delay her and “Chris” getting together but I feel like there’s already enough possible conflict with them both being teachers at the same school and the principal keeping them apart.
Now they’ve added her loser boyfriend who “Chris” has to beat out.
I still like the show, just think they went overboard with the love conflict.

She was baaad, but I also like that they didn't lean into a stereotype.
