Like I said in the other thread.. South Korean men are doing what they swear we do over here on 1000. Beating grade schoolers with baseball bats and grade school boys pimping out grade school girls. Using ai porn to push women to suicide. But nothing on the news about it because the meta is to hate Black people. WHILE THEY ARE CREATING SOFT POWER OFF OUR CULTURE. We should be respectable for our own mental not theirs. They killed us for dressing nice and trying to paint our houses nice for being “uppity”. Respect eachother and avoiding nikka moments is a start

More importantly, black people have been watching black people act like fools which has been a direct reason for the rampant self-hatred in some black people.

Out of all the groups, black people consume the most negative imagery of themselves. No other group consumes as much negative imagery of themselves as black people do.....rap music alone has done almost irreversible damage.

On a subconscious level this has led to self-hatred (whether skin bleaching or just being flat out afraid/cautious of other black people) and also to the "white mans ice is cooler" mentality.

Media propaganda has been the most effective tool of white supremacy over the last 100 years and with the rise of social media over the last decade it has gone into overdrive......psyops like "passport bros" is just that.....media propaganda psyops designed to stir division.

Media propaganda is designed to not only destroy the image/reputation of black people in the eyes of the rest of the world....it's designed to destroy the image/reputation of black people in the eyes of black people.

I get what he's saying but it's not nearly as important as the affects that it's having on how black people feel towards themselves and each other.

Afro-pessimism is like the total opposite of respectability politics
:heh:
Eh, maybe. But this seems to be deeply grounded about Black folks as a group and where we are headed, permanently on the fringes of society if we don't have the begrudging empathy of whites. I think there might be a bit of there there wrt afro pessimistic thinking.
Also thanks to the brehs who pointed out that this video was 20 years old. Like, goddamn he was feeling like this in 2004?? That shyt explain that Katrina episode of the Boondocks

Youre right about the respectability politics stuff.

But he was SPOT ON about the apathy of cacs overriding sympathy or empathy they have. I have said it on here many times but the "hate" that cacs have for us is pretty overstated. The average cac (or any other ethnicity/race) simply does not care about Black people and that apathy is in many ways more harmful than hate.

The Europeans "empathy" only lends itself in a world where you do things their way. So its more like a relationship where they view themselves as our parents, which is already highly insulting. This is why its very important that the black man leaves the country and finds sovereignty and seperation. Im sure many of you experienced this same type of overbearing behavior until you moved out of your parents house. Parents willing yo help,as long as you follow the path they are telling you.. Now your parents may be overbearing control freaks. Or just love you and think they know best. I personally dont believe the European loves us. But i do think they believe they know whats best for everybody. Theyve been under white supremacy programming that has given them a superiority complex. And our insecurities only enable it:respect:

Also I always said the Boondocks was a c00nish show, that you had to be somewhat of a c00n to enjoy and not ever cringe at it. Its very similar to the Chapelle show in that way ,but worse.

Aaron Mcgruder is in that specific tier of black where his art is very accurate but it's also extremely apparent that he hates black people. Donald Glover skirts these lines too

To have the amount of awareness it takes to make something like Boondocks, it can definitely drive you off the deep end into apathy at the least
VERY astute observation.

They hold us to a high standard while keeping us at the lowest common denominator :francis:
Maybe because we both know we are capable of holding a higher standard and they know their shyt stinks? Idk just throwing that out there

I mean, that should’ve been obvious.

That entire series was a commentary on our community from start to finish. You couldn’t feel the disappointment oozing through the screen?

Not to mention choice moments, like when he basically predicted how folks would act when the Popeyes chicken sandwich debuted:mjlol:

If every single black person was mild-mannered, educated, and well spoken it would still be plenty of whites and non blacks who hate us 🤣 black people "acting a fool" isn't to blame for racists...
It’s not about wanting white ppl to love us.

That’s the thing.

“If every single Black person was mild-mannered, educated and well spoken…” cacs would lose their shyt because we’d have a nation of Black folks who were educated, unified, and well equipped to deal with the hardships of this society.

We are literally at the bottom of the economic totem pole. Latinos done surpassed us QUICKLY.

I’ve said it before- if all the young men in the hood just got into the trades- plumbing, trucking, bus drivers, electricians, etc do you know how quickly the Black (male) median salary would rise?!
We aren’t even doing the simple shyt every other community does to establish itself and get ahead.

Then you build together.

And whites will always hate us. Who GAF.

The point is to establish yourself, your family and your community in such a way that it doesn’t fukking matter if they hate you.

THAAAAAT’s the point. We haven’t even gotten there yet.

The Boondocks was part of it

The comics were funny and insightful

Show was c00nery and I know racists that loved it

Show was not c00nery…. Just art imitating life…. The fact that you are close enough to self proclaimed racists to the point that they don’t mind telling you their guilty pleasures is indicative of you not to be taken seriously in regards to anything “black”
