Agreed. I look at us and how we blame everything on the white man but then look around at how we glorify the same stereotypes we are hit with. Being loud, obnoxious or criminal gets hyped up like it's a good thing or like it's funny meanwhile our people are getting dumber and dumber and looking down on education more and more.

A LOT of these white MFs are going to be racist and that shyt needs to be fought against and exposed as much as possible. But we also do need to look inward and look at how sometimes our community has a crab in a barrel mentality and work to pull ourselves down. It's a fight that needs to be fought on both ends instead of labeling anyone who points out legit problems in our community as a c00n.

This is where I’ve been for years: complete apathy. I was overly militant in my younger years but I’ve come to accept that the majority truly don’t want to better themselves.

And I’m completely fine with that. Why expend my energy and emotions on helping those that don’t want to help themselves?

Most black folk don’t want to end white supremacy, they either want a seat at the table or to just be comfortable under oppression.

I now understand why so many activists just say “fukk it” eventually. You spend all those years building a sand castle just for a sea of ignorance to wash it away.

The comics were funny and insightful

Show was c00nery and I know racists that loved it

The show presented "Both sides". But people gravitated to the fukkery aspect of things.

When you watch the first season, the episodes were split between Riley, Huey and Grandad equally. By the end of season 3, Huey was an afterthought.

McGruder is a hoe ass nikka. Carl Johnson (co-creator/Thugnificent) broke the ice about the whole situation earlier this year with Vlad. Basically, it ended because they fell out with each other and it started when Johnson got the green light from Adult Swim and Sony to create Black Dynamite while he was also working on Boondocks. Johnson felt like Mcgruder was doubting whether he could do production for both and that eventually led to Carl noticing Aaron switching up on him and starting arguments over little shyt. Carl came to the conclusion that Aaron wanted to keep him under his wing and didn’t want him to shine on his own shyt. Between them falling out and pressure from the network and deadlines, Aaron said fukk it and quit the show while season 3 was only half way done with production.

After season 3, Adult Swim and Sony begged them to patch things up. Carl reached out to Aaron and asked him to come back to the show. Aaron said NO and they haven’t spoken since. This was like 13 years ago.

So why go on Vlad to tell that story? I know Carl Jones has been on black platforms discussing things, but Vlad?

Check my extensive post history: I never have. It’s not an “entertainer’s” job to give back or fix the problems in the black community.

Who they marry or have children with is not affecting my pockets whatsoever. The whole “generational wealth” is a misnomer I’ve never subscribed to, because there’s no black economic base to invest in anyway.

It’s these politicians who we collectively keep voting in who continue to neglect our causes and lump us in with other minorities.

That’s why i’m not in a single presidential election thread because it’s the same old “this is a life and death election” mantra being repeated. As I said, i’m completely apathetic now.
