North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Rightfully so, McGwire, Sosa, Bonds, Gonzalez, Pudge, Bagwell and a ton of other dudes from that era all put up some fugazi ass numbers.

Bonds was no longer an MVP caliber player anymore until he started juicing for his 2nd peak.

Also, Bonds was a dirtbag off the field and never had the streets like Griffey did.
Actually that’s not true.

Check his stats. They were consistent. The only dip was in 1999 went he missed almost half the season. Came back the next year and he went from being a top 5 player to a monster.

Barry was a hero to a lot of people.

Especially to those who played the sport.

I'll still never forget 2001 waking up every day watching Sportscenter to see if he hit another one.

Fun times.
I was living in the bay when that was popping off. It was unreal. Every single Bonds at bat was appointment TV. Those black jerseys with the orange trim at the goat jerseys to me.

It's hilarious Barry still making them mad 20 years later. Baseball HOF is considered fraudulent because him and Roger ain't in it.

If Judge hits 62 it's the AL record/franchise record. That's it.

If anything, I think Judge was only 3 behind Bonds' pace, so if anything it shows how insane that Bonds September was. From game 139-162

From 9/4 to 10/7

.429
15 HR
24 RBI
36 BB
OPS 1.758

:damn:

Bonds's September was insane. But Judge also had played ~10 more games than Bonds before this point. So even though he was sorta near Bonds's pace, he hadn't actually be hitting home runs at the same rate.
