In order to be a great enough basketball player to make it just to college you pretty much have to live, breathe, sleep, and eat basketball YEAR-ROUND. And on top of that alot of players leave their area/hometown to goto academies and private schools elsewhere. While football if you just got natural athletics and out in like a month or two of work in before the season starts you goin be straight.

According to that source, an arrest warrant has been issued on a charge of obstruction of justice.
