Cox has 1 more Pro Bowl but 1 less All-Pro, and only made AP1 once against the Suh's 3. If we had to place them in order he's 3rd.

Jones essentially has Suh's accolades with 2 extra rings on a dynasty at 30. Questioning his HOF status doesn't really make sense.
Definitely not questioning it but I know some will say all 3 won't make it and I don't think Suh or Cox is a lock. Pretty sure Jones is already in there. If Suh s one then Cox s as well. They count all the All-Pro selections not just first team and like you said Cox being a Pro Bowler an extra time is pretty much evens (though the AP selection is a higher honor) the extra AP selection.

:what:
how old are you?

breh
We are literally in the same age range as Gen Xers are u taking AD over sapp & MGJ

imma old head
been watching the NFL for damn near 4 decades and no disrespect to him, but literally can say that I seen 15 defensive players I would take over him easily

:yeshrug: it is … what it is

Defensive players you would take are all relative to what you value but most coaches would kill for a dominant DT that can stop the run, and can bank on getting a sack and lots of hurries qbs hate pressure up the middle (paws) that makes seasoned qbs nervous

How can one say they’ve won when no one agrees with you. And when I say no one, i mean no one thinks Donald is overrated. Not media members, not fellow pros, not former pros, teammates, opponents, NFL GMs, people in this thread, etc. No one agrees with your crack-addled brain.

first and foremost, I said ‘bit’ overrated, and I gave my explanation
Because you have a few so-called sports media personalities that have said Aaron Donnell is or one of the greatest defensive player of all time which is in my humble opinion - is ridiculous and that’s where I say he’s a ‘bit’ overrated

At the end of the day, I’ve been watching the game for 4 decades, and I would catalyze him as great from a second tier level. I put him in the same breath as defensive lineman as Julius Peepers, Dwight Freeney, and Michael Strahan.

:yeshrug: you get no arguments from me,

but I still think those same coaches that you’re talking about would take a dynamic edge rusher over a DT … 9 times out of 10

nah
its much easier for a coordinator to scheme blocks/double teams on a interior D-Line men

The interior rush is a little underrated,” Mullens said. “People value edge rushers because they can wreck the game but I’d say interior rush is more annoying. It’s not totally aggressive but it’s always pushing and if you do that consistently it gets very annoying.”

“It’s harder to throw in tight spaces,” Mullens continued. “So if you have interior push you are going to have a smaller space to throw the football and that makes it tough. Edge rushers, there’s an opportunity to step up and make more space for yourself.”

The Vikings’ veteran QB said that offensive tackles still have a chance when their man gets beat whereas a guard/center losing the battle results in instant problems unless the quarterback has the speed to run laterally.

“There’s no changing [the interior rush] other than the lineman anchoring down, tackles use it to their advantage to run guys by and it creates running and throwing lanes,” Mullens said.

Look at this way, the quickest path to the qb is up the gut, and devoting a guard center combo every play is tough

First Team means more...you know that.

At the end of the day both Suh and Cox are All-Decade members. They essentially are in fact locks to get it.

No way, pressure up the middle is way more difficult to deal with. Its harder to block without compromising the entire blocking scheme. Committing a center and guard to block 1 person constantly is much more complicated than putting a TE outside to chip or double an Edge. Pressure up the middle...

collapses the pocket
forces you to roll out if you are mobile enough
throws off the timing of the play
cuts off half the field for 99% of QBs

A good QB can step up into the pocket to allow tackles to reset a bit and get back on their blocks. Once the interior is gone the play if usually fukked.
