not to mention, Aaliyah was on the way up. She wasnt this super dominant star...There was a 5 year gap between One In A Million and the third album..She was eating off soundtrack singles. The Aaliyah album and the Queen of the damned movie was supposed to take her to the next level. We just never got to see it all pan out.

the one in a million album did take aaliyah to the next level. just because there was a gap means nothing.... and the sountrack singles were top ten songs .... and nobody said Aaliyah was gonna stop Bey. I'm just clarifying the fact that Aaliyah was a bigger solo act than Bey when she was alive...

Aaliyah was beautiful and I loved her music but vocally - Beyonce has it.

If she were alive, I don't think she'd be making music to be honest. Times have changed BUT I don't think that Beyonce blew up just because Aaliyah died.

I only appreciate certain singles from Bouncy and none of her movies. Her dancing has improved by leaps & bounds - from dancing way too hard & jerky -> ok choreographed numbers -> well executed moves. She's good looking/fine but not sexy. What I admire the most about her isn't even music related, it's her private manner.

Aaliyah. I love her...still. Fluid moves, sweet & sexy, carried a tune well, could listen to her for extended amounts of time/on repeat, and most of all I would come out the pocket to support her.

If Aaliyah were alive today, I think Bouncy would still reign supreme as people are fair weather and fickle and I don't know if Aaliyah would have been versatile enough to change hats and keep up.
