@CantStop talking sense? Cotdamn, 2020 is throwing up some shyt.

:lolbron:

i actually hope they take wiseman.

wiggins, draymond and wiseman frontcourt is a disaster. :bryan:

the draft is kinda trash that you're better off just taking a gamble on a project and hoping u hit the jackpot than drafting a proven player that won't move the needle as much

wiseman is another deandre ayton

yea he'll produce but will he make an impact?

i rather take a gamble than draft someone like that. the game is moving away from those type of oafs. u gotta use them in situational matchups like Lakers did with Dwight
Ayton is 18/11 in year 2 on one of the most dysfunctional teams in the league AND he missed half the season due to suspension. Saying he's not impactful is premature as hell.

Ayton would be the definitive number one pick in this draft. There is no Luka or Trae to question that.

Remember this....

There were people who thought the Magic should have picked Emeka Okafor over Dwight Howard in 2004 cause Howard was coming out of high school and people thought Okafor was the more "ready now" prospect.

ONCE AGAIN... The last 4 Centers to win Gatorade Player of the year:

James Wiseman
Karl Anthony-Towns
Greg Oden
Dwight Howard

Centers total in the last 30+years:

James Wiseman
Karl Anthony-Towns
Greg Oden
Dwight Howard
Alonzo Mourning

I wouldn’t call him an oaf. Wiseman is mobile for his size. The Lakers had the advantage of not needing McGee and Howard but still having them because they had AD. If you replaced AD with some undersized dwarf, the Lakers would have issues defending teams with size.

We have Steph and Klay to make the impact.

Rim protection wasn't going to make a notable difference last season when the breakdowns were happening all over the floor with an inexperienced and limited roster.

And to that point:

The Warriors were 15th in defensive FG% at the rim and 8th in contested shots at the rim last season. It certainly wasn't an area that was an Achilles' heel for them. However, defending the 3-pt line was one of their worst areas, ranking 30th (dead last), where they gave up a mammoth 39%. It was one of the reasons why they had the worst defense in the league.

umm that's not good, you more than likely aren't winning a championship without Top 5 rim protection. t
Quite Frankly I don't care if it's Wiseman or not, honestly I'll take a trade down with the Knicks for Mitchel Robinson and then draft another Wing for depth but I just want a shot blocker to prevent the layup line.

Defending the 3-pt line is just as important, if not more so, and the Warriors were ranked last. I'd say that's a greater priority than rim protection.

@Gil Scott-Heroin

"...it's always been the misconception about small ball. Small ball wasn't about going small, it was about getting skill on the floor..."

I'm so ready for this draft. I think we find a way to trade the #2 and fill out the roster a little more. Nothing to go on, just a gut feeling.

dont think Warriors are getting good value on trade calls

I agree to an extent..

Depends on what you consider as value. I want us to take Wiseman, but as we all know we need to find a balance that supports both immediate and long term goals.

Gil is right in that Wiseman could potentially take longer to develop but the goals (chip) are immediate.

So value might mean something very different than a $/$ deal, but provides more balance across the team/bench...with maybe some younger players that have already been playing for a few years..

Now who that ends up being, I have no clue but I'm preparing myself for a deal to be made...

Again, I think we can make the most out if Wiseman and thats what I want but....
