You have two copies of every gene, one from each parent. The bolded isn't saying 60 percent of the mouse's genes come from the father. It's saying for up to 60 percent of the mouse's genes, the copy of gene from the father was more likely to be active
but I'm saying, wouldn't that make the more active gene (the fathers) more significant?

And I countered with Janet Jackson :ohlawd: who was bigger before during and after Halles pinnacle
they're in completely different lanes, how do you compare? halle was praised for her looks and acting skills. janet jackson was praised for her singing and dancing--along with a small, yet note worthy acting career.

- lauren hills beauty was highly underrated, and she was moreso praised for her lyrical and singing abilities
now back to my question, do you feel that there is an issue with biracial/mixed women setting the black beauty standard.

- kenya moore, while extremely beautiful, was never promoted as the standard of beauty. (which always bugged me after watching senseless)
- tyra banks is one of the handful of black women that did set a standard of beauty and was promoted for her beauty.
- janet jackson, imo, wasn't regarded for her beauty as much as her talent. now i could be remembering things wrong, but i recall other women being regarded much higher in the looks department

now back to my question, do you feel that there is an issue with biracial/mixed women setting the black beauty standard.

Absolutely. And that's why "we/full black people" should continue to teach and encourage the lil girls in our family that they are beautiful as they are. They shouldn't be trying to compete with mixed girls and should embrace their own features. I know my fam has been like that forever.

yeah, she looked great, but happened? self hatred in the family trying to fit that european beauty standard.

Janet was always praised for her beauty even before the surgery. She was the complete package

okay, so why are you trying to bog me down with semantics if you agree? i'm tired of biracials and mixed breeds being promoted as the most attractive of our race at the expense of our women.

Yeah, it would

an uber driver told me that you get a majority of your dna from your father :patrice:
so maybe if the dad is black? :patrice:

The bolded was what I was disagreeing with and to be fair, if it were phrased differently, I wouldn't disagree with it at all

Its more so Instagram and Tumblr culture promoting women who look like this as "black" beauty. It more like a "c00n" undercurrent but there are still black people promoting "black" looking aesthetics. So it's not the entire community doing this.
