My neighbor is a hood nikka from East Atlanta and we were high and he brought something that this up.

He was saying how w/ the gov. shutdown and people not working/getting paid that shyt is gonna get crazy around Thanksgiving. He said nikkas are gonna be killin for turkeys and if not then shyt's gonna hit the fan when all these ppl w/ kids but no money are gonna play survival of the fittest to play Santa.

Does he have a point or is he one of them nikkas who "goes there" when high? (conspiracy, etc)

I still say there needs to be limits on what they can buy and NO i don't care if they buy steaks, id' rather they buy a box of T-Bones instead of cases and cases of soda and chips.

What happens when those Wal-Mart stores finish going through the transactions and add up all the purchases that accumulated over the EBT limits? Do they get to sue the goverment for that money? They didn't have to keep accepting the cards once they were aware of the glitch but couldn't they claim ignorance? I'm guessing their contract/license with the state government to accept EBT must state something about a situation like that.

you're trippin. The majority of people on stamps need them and use them appropriately... furthermore, most of the time the amount isn't enough to cover all the food they need... it's supplemental.

But from a health standpoint, I doubt the majority of food content walmart has to offer meets the rigor of providing a great source of nutrients. Especially amongst a population(african americans) who are unfairly predisposed to hypertension, as well as other genetic diseases...

I went in to use my shyt, lol and saw a sign that said machine is down - affecting several states. I just gave the lady 200 dollars.

BUT what about all the rodents circling the store trying to feed their children who don't have cash?

And about eating healthy- The majority of the food in stores is poison and most Americans are ignorant about it, Why are black single mothers being singled out?

I'm not trippin. I know most people use them correctly, hell I grew up on them no shame in that. Let's be real though, the purpose of the program is to feed people who wouldn't be able to do so on their own, I'll also add that it does it with a sense of pride. That being said the actions of the people at this walmart is shady to me. Just because some CAN be taken advantage of doesn't mean you SHOULD take advantage of it...on a side note I think Walmart is just as shady if not moreso because you know damn well they are going to submit that bill back to the fed like "We can't help that your system fuked up"

1. In summary EBT/SNAP/Foodstamps are a great thing.
2. The actions of the people were shameful
3. The action of Walmart was shameful
4. There should be a limit on the amount of junk food one can purchase with EBT.

If there's an argument against any of those 4 points i'd really like to hear it.
