:patrice: I know Phife spoke on that, but BRAL came off clean. I can see it with the love movement. But as far as straight beats and rhymes, BRAL was that deal/delivered, and fit the dark mood/transition they were going thru perfect.

Never felt that way with me. The mood and tone are fine but I can sense there's a disjointed direction and that's why the album doesn't work for me as much as the first three or this one.

Join A Tribe Called Quest & Elliot Wilson for an In-Depth Discussion in NYC Tomorrow Night

It’s been an eventful week for A Tribe Called Quest and their legion of faithfuls. Oddly enough it began with the arrival of their final album, We Got It From Here…Thank You 4 Your Service, now projected to land flush at the top of the Billboard 200 upon final reporting later this week. The victory lap continued the following evening with the group’s touching tribute to the late Phife Dawg on Saturday Night Live (hosted by Dave Chappelle) in a pair of performances, just when we needed it most.

And tomorrow evening, the celebration will continue with an intimate and in-depth discussion of their final farewell with the Elliot Wilson for his Rap Radar podcast at the Marlin Room in NYC’s Webster Hall. What’s more, the discussion is open to the public, but if you know the Marlin Room, you know space is limited and tickets will sell fast. So try and snag a few stubs while you still can via TicketWeb. And if you’ve yet to dive into A Tribe Called Quest’s new album, be sure to grab your copy via iTunes today. Head over to The Shop to pre-order your vinyl fix ahead of the official drop.

what are you disagreeing with? even with the pharcyde and sv Dilla did not produce like qtip. and when he arrived the style changed more to his instead of qtip. it's all documented, all you have to do is listen. to dilla's work or qtip's from any period.

the difference is the problem is what I'm saying and you just said the same thing

That Dilla's style resulted in a step down for ATCQ

While it's too out there at times with the beats for my taste to put it up with the classics it's still dope
