Personally this skyscraper should be close to 125th street as possible. Harlem but I guess that street has enough development already

It wouldn't look outta place in Harlem? When I visited back in 2015, it came off as a pretty human-scaled neighborhood even with the giant ass project buildings.

anyways, some cities are starting to move away from skyscrapers.

But…it’s a skyscraper and can house multiple black businesses and a hotel, according to the article. It offers more potential black jobs than some office building.

While those things are true.

a few city blocks of black owned businesses has a higher potential to benefit a community, as it's better suited to house community services than a skyscraper...which is gonna require a hefty price for tenants and pretty much price out the majority of small black business owners.

whole project seems like an attempt a symbolic win to me though.
