I’ll believe it when it’s actually built and populated by black Americans. Until then this building will be constructed in Duckberg and not New York

If it’s for “Black Americans" why is the architect some African nikka that happens to be knighted so there’s no telling the amount of treachery he had to inflict on his own people to get that kind of acknowledgment.

And offices for the NAACP.

No thanks, keep that bullshyt.

He’s the same architect that designed the AA museum in DC.

I’m rooting for this to happen. Wish the building was black or bronze though. The designer did an amazing job with the DC museum.

yes I wish everyone involved was FBA but we gotta compromise on some things.

Great spot too.

The Wall Street Journal reported the building’s patter is somewhat remindful of the pick combs that Black people tucked into their Afros back in the day. It quoted Peebles saying, “including me in the 1970s.”

That rendering tho :what:

If they could acquire a few city blocks of commercial/office property it'd probably do more for black business... but if symbolic things matter to a lot of folks.
But…it’s a skyscraper and can house multiple black businesses and a hotel, according to the article. It offers more potential black jobs than some office building.
