I don't doubt you can hold people back with artillery but you need a proper encampment and organization (at least 30-50 people) not just a couple guys with guns

and anyway you need to have a big group to secure drinking water, deal with sewage, find food, communicate with the outside world, get gasoline, etc

uh, the amount of water had a lot to do with that. it wasn't just the lack of power

my point was that the US is not prepared for any major disaster, whether it be made made, or mother nature. yeah the water had a lot do with the fact that those people died and suffered, but the government knew the hurricane was coming and all of what happened still resulted.

if we were attacked with a nuclear weapon, we probably wouldn't get much, if any warning, and the damage would cover a region far greater than what happened to the gulf coast. Translation, we'd all be fukked.

True. But an Ak can survive the elements that other rifles usually can't. You can dip that bytch in water or sand and still fire it. Really can't do that with an M-16, AR, etc.

I agree with and Daze in the long run, but not within the immediate aftermath. You need to assess many things before forming alliances. Things that are better assessed individually or in very small groups.
