If you think of it as being two different items you bought and sold, clearly you flipped a $60 item for $70 and you flipped a $80 item for $90 and made $20 combined across those two deals

So say they're two different goats you bought and sold. You make $20.

Now ask yourself, why would the identity of the goat matter? :leostare:

Some of the answers here are comedy. :lolbron:People literally walking you through why he made 20 dollars and everyone still coming up with odd answers like he broke even lol.

Buys a goat for 60 sells for 70 and makes 10 dollars. Simple enough. People getting confused because he rebought it at higher price than what he sold it for. But for a reason. He found a buyer who would pay even higher than his new repurchase price.

Imagine if it was some other item like shoes. You buy then for 60 and one of your boys says he'll buy it from you at 70. You sell it to him. Then some other dude is like hey I saw those shoes you had can you sell them to me? You tell him sure I can for 90 bucks. You take his 90 go to your boy and get the shoes back. He says he'll sell it back to you at 80. You give him 80 of the 90 bucks and keep 10.

End result. You made 20. Your boy made 10. And the final seller bought it at 30 higher than he should have

Fact 1: Startup is $60
Fact 2: Profit from sale one is $10
Fact 3: Total $ is $70 after
Fact 4: Second purchase is $80
Fact 5: He only has $70
Fact 6: To purchase you’re -$10
Fact 7: Sells at 90
Fact 8: He bought at $80 and sold at $90
Fact 9: He made $10
Fact 10: He was negative $10
Fact 11: 10 + -10 =
0
are u double adding in the -10 from fact 6?

the -10 owed is resolved once u add in the 90. u don't have to re-add it in.

for the second round:
$70 starting balance - $80 purchase + $90 sale = $80 ending balance

80 ending balance - $70 starting balance = $10 profit in the second round of sales

Fact 1: Startup is $60
Fact 2: Profit from sale one is $10
Fact 3: Total $ is $70 after
At this point hes up ten dollars from initial position

Fact 4: Second purchase is $80
Fact 5: He only has $70
Fact 6: To purchase you’re -$10
At this point he has to make make purchase of 80. Twenty dollars more than his start-up position. Ten dollars will come from his profit from sales one and ten is a loan. He purchases at 80 which is like he now had 20 dollars more than where he started. But ten of it is a loan.
Fact 7: Sells at 90
Fact 8: He bought at $80 and sold at $90
Fact 9: He made $10

He Is now 30 dollars above his initial position of 60. He still has to refund where he got the ten from since that isn't profit. 30-10 = 20.
Fact 10: He was negative $10
Fact 11: 10 + -10 = 0

He's up 30 and 10 of that wasn't profit. Profit is 20

Flying in :cape: to fukk this shizzit up.. Talking about goats.

Answer: yes or no?

Yes.
Initially your chances of getting the car is 1 in 3.

But now the new offer can play out this way
1. If you chose the car initially. which is one in 3 chance you did. Then He reveals a goat and you change. You'll end up with a goat and lose.

2. If you chose the first goat then he reveals the other goat. When you change you'll get a car.

3. If you chose the second goat and he reveals the other goat when you change your choice you get a car.

So essentially initially your chances was one in three. But with the way things play out as above two of those three choices now are favourable. So your odds are now 2/3 instead of initial 1/
