This is one of the stupidest mindsets I’ve seen. When you have people galvanized and willing to fight, you’re supposed to take advantage of that to start pushing the agendas that benefit you.
Who cares if they wouldn’t protest if it only happened to us? They’re protesting now and their frustration can still be weaponized for the benefits of black folks.
We don’t live in an ideal world, we live in the real world.
No one speaks for us but us though. They always come for us first, and everyone else is silent. A bit silly to make it seem like we should jump up for others, when the heat is on us the others sit back and watch.
So I suggest you guys use that quote in the spaces of other ethnicities, because we did speak up for them by not voting for this neo facist.

Eactly! They are getting just a short experience of what we have been experiencing for years, YEARS, and now they finally want to protest. When it was happening to us, they were quiet as a church mouse.
They could have stopped this and saved their farms. They could have protected their illegal family members. They could have protected their government jobs. Yet, they decided to vote for this man so much so that he won in a landslide 226 electoral votes for Kamala vs 312 electoral votes for Trump. Now they have buyers remorse, because they thought he was only going to harm the people they found to be undesirables (Which means mainly Black people).
So this is how that quote should really go as it pertains to this situation
"First they came for the Black Americans, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Black American."
Enough with this attempt to push my ethnicity to be the mule for everyone else's issues. The body used to protect everyone else from danger. The one group it is perfectly fine to ignore the real economic issues it is suffering under, for the betterment of the rest of the nation. I say let them suffer the consequences of their actions, and do some heavy lifting first, before we raise a hand to do anything. Let them experience what many in my ethnicity experienced for YEARS!
