I'd take this over GS death lineup.

And as bad as LeBron was in the 2011 finals. He should have been criticized (u know how media and fans do) for Wade carrying the Heat to title that year while he took a backseat. They could/should have still won that series despite LeBron's off performance. Terrible coaching by Spo.
That death lineup is as good as any closing lineup I've seen. The only team that's closed games as well as them since 1996-97 is the 2012-13 Heat. 2013 should have been our 3rd in a row, but someone just had to start the corpse of Mike bibby in the finals even though he was useless on both ends of the floor all year (he was so bad on defense that even when shooting 44% from deep in the regular season, we were worse when he played) along with Joel Anthony in the starting lineup. Had to play a starting lineup where the Mavericks had basically a 3 on 5 power play on one end and a 4 on 5 power play on the other end while the best 3 point shooter in the starting lineup was LeBron at 33% on the year. 2010-11 through this year he's made either a firing worthy tactical error in a playoff series, or just been bad enough all around to warrant it. His substitutions last year (2014-15) by my count cost the Heat about 11-12 games. The 2012-13 team had several lineups they would go to in close games though depending on the match ups. I'd have put that team up against anyone that's ever played. They had shooting, energy, depth, shot blocking, slashers, great defense that could force live ball turnovers and get on the break. The roll they were on once adding the birdman and before Wade hurt his knee in Orlando :wow:

curry sucked, but kerr deserves a fair share of heat too. they were struggling on offense the past 2 games yet he continued to trot out barnes, varejao, and ezeli to compound how badly curry and thompson were. i thought we were going to see a heavy dose of speights, barbosa, and livingston this game and they played a combined 25 minutes on the floor. ezeli and varejao getting 19 minutes is about as head scratching as scotty brooks continuing to start worthless perkins every game of the 2012 finals.
I agree. Kerr has been amazing his last two years, but I think this was a bad habit he learned from Phil Jackson. Phil liked to leave his guys out when they were struggling, trusting them to work out their issues. With this sort of depth, he could have afforded to ride the other guys.

lebron would be dumb to try to leave him and team up with soon to be 35 year old wade and Melo on some brotherhood bullshyt
At this point, what's left for him to prove though? He won multiple titles with maybe the worst coach in sports while Wade was reduced to a shell of himself due to injury, and then dragged a team from fukking Cleveland to beat the 73-9 defending champs on the road in game 7 after they knocked his team out a year earlier, which had the worst record in basketball the 4 years he was gone. Not much more he could really do to top that :manny:

Anything beyond 2012-13 is really icing on the cake in my opinion. The win over San Antonio really should have driven that home. I honestly don't think he's gonna play much longer. He's looked miserable the last two years, and I expect he wants to have some fun the last few seasons he plays.

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
A few random musings:

* Cleveland deserved it. They could have easily called it a series when they were down 3-1, but kept fighting.

* I think Kerr bungled this game A LOT. Playing Ezeli as long as he did in the fourth. Cleveland got points on basically every switch. You have to take that dude out at that point. Playing Andy in the 4th. Playing Barbosa so few minutes. Playing Speights none until the final seconds after he was very active in the first half. Having Curry run off screens until he got the ball with 8 seconds as opposed to bringing the ball up himself and initiating the offense. I felt like he lacked coaching intuition and played some players way too much and others too little game 7.

* People say Ezeli has a low bball IQ. I don't think that's the case as at all. He lacks basketball awareness. He knows what he's supposed to do, but reacts so slowly or awkwardly in trying to do it. His awareness should be like a 10 or some shyt in 2k. He's rubbish for that reason and stone hands. He has no intrinsic feel for the game.

* I felt like the Warriors were going to lose when Klay's 3 went in and out. That kinda shyt just screams that the basketball gods ain't feeling it.

* The Warriors started got caught up in a lot of bullshyt after the first two games. They started answering questions about if they could beat the Showtime Lakers and this and that historic team. Like breh, the Finals aren't over! You're in the middle of the damn Finals. That's the kind of stuff you entertain after you've won the championship. Not while you're in the middle of the shyt.

* I said it in another thread, but Curry is a great player. With that being said his personality is wayyyyyyyyyy too passive. He would have been a great golfer or some shyt. But, in a team sport when you're the "guy" the team follows your lead. Sometimes you're going to have to take charge and be the emotional leader, and Curry isn't that "guy." I don't think he realized it was game 7 of the finals until it was over. Dude was playing detached and reckless like he was hooping at a rec. I saw him casually goofing around on dead balls just throwing the ball at the rim in like the 3rd fukking quarter. It's like he wasn't even taking the game serious. He rarely pushes the ball now. He just gets it and casually dribbles up the court. There were times where he was close to 8 seconds he took so long to dribble the ball over the half court line. It's this too cool for school shyt that has affected every area of his game. He HAS to evaluate what kind of leader he's going to be going forward. He has to do some soup searching or something over the summer. For real.
