you're probably right about Dr Buss.....he moved differently. If bron was 30 do you think we still would've waited? I think Bron's age and lengthening our championship window had a lot to do with it. If Bron is younger maybe the FO says fukk Kawhi off top.
Bron at 34 put up what, 27,8,8 last year? I just don't see Buss allowing Kwahi & Dennis to lead him around on a leash if he has that guy paired with AD already. It was sheer gluttony. What did you even fight so hard to keep Kuzma for if you needed Kwahi badly enough that you put everything on standby? I'm not faulting Jeanie or Pelinka. Its easy to look back on it as silly when you have the benefit of hindsight but I think its one of those experience things. He was blatantly stalling and I think a more savvy owner would have scoped that out, primarily when he was shifting meet up locations on the fly nearly two weeks into the ordeal.

Lebron is still arguably the greatest player on Earth currently and AD is easily top 5. I'm taking that duo over any other tandem in the league. At that point, all you need are pieces around them that fit. Pieces that the FO did a mostly good job at getting all things considered. We're up there in age, but I don't see any immediate glaring holes other than possible injuries due to that age & the Vogel fiasco that will inevietably become a distraction & dominate the headlines at some point during the season.

Yeah to me, if you have an inkling that you’re legit in play you HAVE to try to land kawhi...had they not, the media would’ve went all in with this “lakers front office is a bunch of bumbling idiots that don’t even understand how the cap works” bullshyt they were spewing after the AD trade and the. pretended like it never happened once they were in the running for kawhi...they did good enough a job as they could moving on to plan B filling out the roster...most of the guys that they “missed out” on were overpaid for what the team needed anyway
