KD rejected him because he already explained it last season about himself, Lebron, and Kawhi not being able to team up because they are the guys who are suppose to go at it in the league. He said this when he made those comments about Lebron's environment being toxic. Its true to what he said because if any one of these guys were to team up and form pairs in any scenario, then no one would stand a chance barring injury. It also would not enhance any of their legacies because these are the top 3 players in the league. Kawhi got shut down based off that.

Jimmy is playing his self though because he knows deep down inside he is not in that top 3 of KD, Kawhi, and Bron. He better hope Pat can work one last miracle and build something down here around him, but that might be too much to pull off. Jimmy should have seriously considered Kawhi's offer because he is going to hate his time here by year 2 or 3 of that contract if they can't even reach the ECF.

i know KD rejected Kawhi's offer, he probably already had BKN with Kyrie planned months in advance. Any link to Jimmy rejecting him??
