I disagree. I've long said it'd be smart of other free agents to do that. If Lebron and AD could sign even a borderline all star like D'angelo they are the title favorites. So why would it not be in Kawhi's best interest to weaken the biggest contender out there? If I knew I was going back to a team I would purposely fukk with every other contender out just to keep them from improving or at the least causing them to lose depth as they clear cap room.

Then why wasn’t Philly in the mix. I’m sure they could’ve gotten the money together and are more direct competition compared to the Lakers. Instead they made strong moves and are more of a threat to the Raps. Just seems like some real tinfoil pseudo-Machiavellian shyt the media is running with. If he was really that conniving then he’d be signing with us in order to whisk the team away and become the top dog on the top team.

Kawhi has to make a tough decision and is using all the time afforded to him. I don’t think it’s anymore complicated than that.

Cris Carter was pretty much lobbying him to join the Lakers on First Things First this morning. He said Uncle Dennis and Kawhi asked for his opinion and he said Kawhi's best chance to win more rings would be with the Lakers.

He also killed the notion that Kawhi doesn't want to play with other star players.
he's connected like that? :patrice:

The Greatest Show on Earth has once again returned to basketball’s main stage.

First and foremost give thanks and praises to the GOAT franchise in all professional sports, your Boss Angeles Lakers. Give thanks to the top stanbase and it’s GOAT stanchise the LWO.

After years of brutal tank wars vs the processed sixers, the loss of the one shooting gawd Kobe Bean Bryant, and palace intrigues between a cokehead and his centerfold sister for franchise control. The showdown was decided upon the advice of the one shooting gawd (pbuh) to Jeanie telling her to eliminate cokehead and mitch by any means necessary. The era of white lines and cocktails was ended in exchange for the point gawd Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka, Kobe’s former agent turned proxy in the Lakers front office.

Magic and Rob aka Maglinka, set out on the road to replenish the scortched earth left by cokehead with new hope. Snitches and bum nikkaz were traded and replaced with solid signings and superb draft picks. In all this time, stars began to align unnoticed by Laker stans. But with the threat of bum ass george paul taking cap space to live out his fake Kobe dreams the franchise was still in danger.

Enter the King. Many by now had bore witness to LeBron James and his claim as the new gawd player of his time. Yet for all the prestige of his kingdom, LeBron was a witness to the truly regal nature of GOAT franchise. In a move that has united once warring stanbases, the King’s reign has now been bolstered by joining forces with the GOAT franchise in all professional sports. Two gold standards that has created a perfect storm to help combat the reign of the Warriors. Now rather than bringing excellence to more lowly franchises. He will help to restore it to its rightful place.

Now with GOAT franchise, LeBron’s title of mere kingship in the NBA has been exceeded. LeBron has now become His Imperial Majesty of all sports. HIM aka Hollywood Bron, with his motley band of rogues, look to pull off one of the greatest upsets in sports history as they plot to eliminate the Warriors and defeat Boston to gain the 17th title in GOAT franchise’s history with the prospects of Kobe’s nephew Kawhi returning home to Boss Angeles to join the Lakers to exact revenge for his dirty injury battling the Warriors years before. Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in years, the GOAT franchise Boss Angeles Lakers presents.....The Greatest Show on Earth! :blessed:

The roster:

Lonzo/Rondo (aka Razor Ramondo) aka the Zondo Bros/Lex ‘ruso
KCP/Josh the Hitman Hart of the Streetz
Crandon Ingram(aka B.I. Baracus)/Lance “that Brooklyn bullshyt, we on it!” Stephenson/Sniper Svi
H.I.M. LeBron James/Killa Kyle Kuzma/Super Cool Beas
Vale don’t fail McGee/Zuwop/Polo on My Body with the Zack Moritz Swagner

It’s time for that upset y’all...:handrub::respek:

Here’s the post on LG

here we go. Recap:

Drove to the Kettle, parked and walked down to Strand House where fellow LGer had heard LBJ, AD, and Kawhi were posted up, upstairs. Place is closed down, nobody downstairs, a few workers upstairs, but obviously wasn't going to get in. Walked back up the street to the main entrance (close to where my pic is taken from), and then saw a sign on one of those movable posts that said "Upstairs - Private Party".

Walked into Shellback and sat down...got the attention of the bartender.. Played it cool for a minute and then just asked him flat out "hey, heard possibility there was a Lebron sighting over at Strand House earlier, you hear anything about that?" Dude laughed and said "yeah that was the talk of this place about two hours ago..."

Austin said:

- A dude came in with two girls and said "Anthony Davis just rolled up". That got the place buzzing a little bit, but nobody ran out to check it out.
- A few minutes later, that same dude left for a bit, and said again that Anthony Davis was across the street (at Strand House), and that he's pretty sure Lebron is there, too.
- That was it for a bit until two women came in and said that they had come over from Strand House and that there were "rumors" (bartender stressed that they were not actually sure) that Lebron, AD and Kawhi were all upstairs with just a few other people. Austin said another guy walked over to the parking lot adjacent (between the beach and Strand House) to see what he could see and all he could confirm was that there were 6-8 people upstairs, it was dark, and nobody else was up there on the entire floor.

More to follow...

Okay...a few final tidbits:

- Older guy (50s? typical Manhattan Beach guy) stops over and says "Davis has been down here a few times recently", and said that they get him in and out around back (I guess there's an alley entrance). So maybe that's why there wouldn't be crowds that know about it?
- He also mentioned that he had heard Lebron was there at Strand House when he was at Rock n Fish an hour earlier. So putting all the timestamps together, I'm guessing they were there around 9:30 maybe? Not sure how that matches what the original LG poster's friend said.
- The sign. I couldn't get a picture of it

- I will upload my divebar pic. Thought about taking a pic with the bartender for y'all but this paparazzi thang ain't my thang haha.

Anyway, in summary...I saw nothing...I talked to some people who heard second hand that AD and Lebron were both there, and only one mention of Kawhi, and that was third hand. So, I don't think the case has been cracked, but it's nice to know at the very least that our current two superstars are hanging out on a Wed night in the dark with a few other people
