melo gonna end up on this team, sometime the next two years.
If Rondo’s the starting guard this team isn’t winning shyt. He was outplayed by Caruso.

ditto. might end up with both. its gonna be a lot of niggs tryna get that late ring, taking peanuts.Prolly next season. As long as he’s deep in the bench I don’t care. Hell I slightly prefer Vince over Melo personally if we gon go the old big name route.
You need to surround them with energy young guys, not old vets. I will take Caruso and Jones over Rondo any day.
Don’t know how anyone wants rondo back after his defense last year..he’s not good.
And then we are talking about Melo on this roster tooAD gonna break down in 20 games protecting the rim with Bron, Kuz and Rondo out there![]()
LA should focus on building quality depth. That is how Toronto beat GS. Forget about bringing in a 3rd max player. What LA should do is
Sign D.Collison, Beverly or T.Rozier 3 yr 18m (6m per)
Sign B.Lopez or D.Cousins 3 yr 18m (6m per)
Sign D.Green,JJ Riddikk or S.Curry 3 yr 18m (6m per)
Sign Mirotic 3 yr 18m (6m per)
Sign Ariza or M.Scott to the MLE
Sign T.Gibson to the Vet minimum
All 3 yr deals would have a 3rd yr player option. All players signing would have 4 incentives to sign with the Lakers:
* Playing time, especially at the PG,SG and C positions
* Playing for a title contender
* Playing in LA
* The potential to sign for a bigger contract in 2 years.
G- Collison/Rozier/ Beverly
G- Green/Reddikk/Curry
C- Lopez/Cousins
F- Davis
F- James
6- Kuzma
7- Ariza
8- Caruso
9- Mirotic
10- Gibson
LA would still have the option of keeping KCP, Bullock, Rondo or McGee
They'd also have the option of adding 1 or 2 players before the trade deadline and during the waiver period.
And then we are talking about Melo on this roster too. Lakers need to not do the exact same thing as last year. AD had Jrue Holiday on his team and they still had 29th ranked defense.
Lakers need to stay far away from rondo but I knew this was coming. He and Melo are a high possibility.
Thank you for not having a starting five that included Kuz
I still say we go for the third star, but this isn't a bad alternative
Very well thought out post. I say build through depth if you cant get Kawhi, no other free agent is worth sacrificing good depth. I don't see what everyone sees in Ariza, I think Jeff Green would be a better fit and he made 2.5m as opposed to Ariza's 15m but yeah, the rest looks legit. I don't see Mirotic or JJ taking those kind of cuts but its worth a shot. Seth Curry should be a priority I believe. Not only is he a dead eye shooter, but I thought he defended well in the playoffs. I like your 6m number. Try to get one of the Mirotic/Marcus Morris forwards to stretch the floor (8-10m). Kuzma would be a great change of pace when he subs for them. Faried/McGee/Portis/Rose would also be a good inexpensive depth guys. Rose/Portis/Seth are all 80%+ FT shooters as well.LA should focus on building quality depth. That is how Toronto beat GS.
