Only place it could’ve came from was LeBron and/or Lakers brass as a way to throw off reporters and prevent a press frenzy.

Clippers made the least sense in all this, now with the AD trade they’re laughable. For all the money and having a super old Jerry West as a consultant and Doc as coach how does that add up to the Lakers brand + Bron/AD? Clips are the rich weirdo in the room trying to get a date.

People also forget the New Balance factor. Kawhi got his own brand now and shoe and NB promotes the hell out of him. For brand purposes and financial reasons, makes no sense whatsoever to join the B team and be overshadowed. I wouldn't doubt it if New Balance structured his contract in a way where if he joins the Lakers or another big market team, he gets a bonus. His sales would sky rocket. Who the fukk willingly wants to play for the Clippers? I can't even tell you their biggest free agent signing. CP3 was traded there, Blake was drafted there, DeAndre drafted there... :hhh:

All big facts.

Being from LA would also help him be involved in family business and follow in his father’s footsteps with the Black business ownership in LA. Too many pluses when it comes to Kawhi signing with the Lakers. Makes way too much sense from every standpoint.
