Competent directors and writers tend to make good movies and film-making abroad is better than in the U.S. I think you just cracked the Da Vinci code with this one, breh

I dont know lol. It depends on the day. I liked the show "You" that was on there...most of the content is things i've seen and have no interest in seeing again at the moment or shyt i would never even want recommended to me. all the stand up comedy on there looks terrible.
I loved that movie
I find enough content to watch where I feel justified keeping a sub and I say this as a piratin' ass breh. Even when it's dry the shows I like still got seasons coming out so I don't cancel.
OP is spot-on, I binged a bunch of b-movies last summer and was truly at how godawful they were.
With that said, they have dope concepts at least and I enjoyed og shows like Slasher and Stranger Things.
You say that like most people know the competent directors and writers...I definitely get swindled by the names of the cast and/or the premise, get to the middle of a film and realize I’ve been hoodwinkedCompetent directors and writers tend to make good movies and film-making abroad is better than in the U.S. I think you just cracked the Da Vinci code with this one, breh
You have to have a budget of at least $100K to hopefully breakeven with them. It’s possible like that T.I. that was likely shot on a GH4 for less than $100K but they had names in it so...I cut Netflix a year ago. I’ll use my brothers account when a comedy special drops but that’s about it.
Netflix be doing too much. Green light for every bum idea just to say they have content.
Some of you who are into film making should hit them up.
Nah, I was just making a point that that's how you find a good movie in general, Netflix or otherwise. The state of the movie industry is trash in general. Thing is it's not like every movie Lionsgate Films, for example, has released is on an app for us to see just how trash their offerings have been. When you have a studio's entire catalogue at your disposal it's easy to make a generalization. When you don't, you might only remember the two or three movies of their's that you saw within the last couple years. You say that like most people know the competent directors and writers...I definitely get swindled by the names of the cast and/or the premise, get to the middle of a film and realize I’ve been hoodwinked

Add into that alot of these traditional movie studios are decades old vs Netflix literally dropping their first original movie less than four years ago. In contrast, a popular, small production company like Blumhouse has been making movies since '07. If anything, I'm impressed what streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime have been able to accomplish in an incredibly short span of time. These guys are infants in the original TV and feature film game and are stacking up Emmy and Oscar nominations like they're veterans. There's a reason the industry hates them.
