In no way shape or form do I equate homosexual rights to black or women rights but the similarities are uncanny. Dude is basically saying he had to change his misogynist and homophobic ways because someone of another background has entered the environment. Instead of embracing and welcoming growth and diversity personally and professionally, he'd rather stay a neanderthal. So much to the point that it's affecting his job performance. So much to the point where he feels entitled to a pay increase :skip: for working around a gay person. So much to the point he had to take down trashy bikini model calendars. (Which no one over the age of 20 should own :sitdown:) Only hatred in the heart can stir up such emotions.

A. Goddamn it, ever since Jerome came aboard I have to watch what I say. I can no longer freely drop the n-word without looking over my shoulder. I don't want to be fired and labeled a racist. It's not fair. :beli:

B. Goddamn it, working with women sucks. I can't crack sexual jokes anymore because I'm afraid of a sexual harassment lawsuit. It's not fair.

C. Goddamn it, working with gays suck. I can't say homo or fakkit because I'm afraid of getting hit with a discrimination lawsuit. It's not fair.

In all three cases there's the theme of minority and majority and basically what the OP is saying, he and his friends shouldn't have to cater to the minority to make them feel comfortable. :laff: Sounds so damn familiar.

OP probably works in some job with blue collar job or something where nikkas are just cracking bullshyt jokes on other people for the hell of it instead of just doing their job.

I don't think you understand how this EEO shyt works breh. Have ya'll had any type of harassment training?

Because if you do you'd understand that harassment or discrimination can be ANYTHING.

If you look at a female co-worker for longer than 10 seconds, that could be considered harassment, it doesn't even have to be in a sexual nature, if the co-worker in question feels threatened or uncomfortable, you violated them.

You can be having lunch in the cafeteria and even if you guys are all joking around and shyt, if you say something like "I mean shyt Stacy you know what I'm talking about...I mean you got a applebottom so you know dudes are thirst".

Yeah...she can say she felt sexually harrassed by a co-worker and that it's affecting her work and BAM you're fired. It doesn't have to be some shyt like on TV where a dude is threatening to fire a broad cause she won't go out with him, it can be even smaller than that.

Pretty much....Quality is probably the wrong word because their are tons of high quality blue collar jobs that pay very well....However, the bigger the company the more stringent the envrionment becomes....What was once considered harmless banter can easily esacalate to offensive dialogue in the right(or wrong) company....I do understand why the OP doesn't want to work around that guy though...Getting 5 people sacked in the course of a year is extreme and indicates that this cat might have issues...

HR aint risking that lawsuit for nobody....You can be an outstanding employee but if you agreed to a conduct policy and breech it, its a wrap....It aint even gotta be fair for real.....It only has to be interpreted as offensive to one person and that's all that matters...

That's why I stay out of these broads faces at work....No matter how much they flirt on the sly...

So a couple months back, we get a new hire in. I never really talked to him, just hello/goodbye.

About a month ago, one of our long time employees got fired out of the blue. Soon after, we started having a bunch of sensitivity and harassment training sessions.

A week later, A manager gets canned, and we have another harassment refresher course. Time goes by and two more employees get canned. By this time I know they are getting fired for saying insensitive things, but I just don't know what.

Today they moved me over to that section and I got a chance to meet the new hire, and immediately I knew what happened. Dude is gay than a sumbytch, and I know the guys that got fired due to him.

Most guys that work here come from a mechanic backround so they are used to manly jokes, hoopin and hollerin at women, ect. I think it's unfair that they were expected to change themselves because we got one employee in that doesn't like the way they are.

Now we are down 5 quality employees and weeks behind cause one gay dude wanted to come in and act like a fakkit:pacspit:

would you be fine if these same co-workers were making jokes about black people? gays should be able to enjoy a civil workplace free from "humor" about their homosexuality. if the guys didn't stop making jokes about gay people in the presence of the gay employee, they deserved to be fired. i've made gay jokes before, but i'm not stupid and insensitive enough to do it right in front of someone whom i know to be gay.
