A friend of mine went to the hospital for chest pains in August, and was told he was fine. 3 months later he dies suddenly.

Word to the wise, the emergency room of the hospital is not doing a full medical work up. They will see you, look for acute issues, and get you the fukk on. I don’t know what your boy had going on but it’s always best to have a primary care physician and speciality providers on the outpatient side. If you’re going to emergency room it’s usually bc the problem is manifesting in a way you can’t ignore anymore

Not yet. It was election day and he had gotten off early from work. His wife came home and found him unresponsive on the couch. She, nor the paramedics could resuscitate him. His family is thinking it was a heart attack.
Sorry to hear this. I've had about 6-10 friends this has happened to over the last decade. All young. Pre and post covid.

RIP to your friend. I will say, the hospital is for emergencies only. They're there to make sure you don't to die immediately. What they should have done if they didn't was to recommend him to a physician where he would be able to receive a proper diagnosis and treatment plan for any ailments he had.

What did he have for testing? Did he have any imaging done? Did he have a follow-up? Was this his normal PCP, or someone at urgent care or a clinic? RIP to your friend.

Damn RIP :snoop:

just by the title alone I knew your friend was black, when it comes to black men and women we have to get lucky enough to have a really good black doctor or get multiple opinions when it comes to doctors because one usually ain’t enough if they white or Asian doctors
I think lighter skinned Asians are the next best option, after black doctors.

First, my sincere condolences.

Second, something ain't adding up. I'm not doubting your story, but there's a LOT we (and you) don't know about his condition prior to or after his initial diagnosis.

Is his family pursuing any legal action?

Sorry for your loss

Doctors need to take the concerns of Black patients seriously. If we're not feeling well, we're not feeling well!

From the sound of it it sounds like it could have been a widow maker blockage or maybe he had some severe case of sleep apnea.

Those are the common things we see people suddenly die on.
