So youre just ready to give ultimate power to a dictator just because he promised you he would be fair and things would be good? In a dictatorship you dont have the luxury of disagreeing with the state. How is having 1 person decide EVERYTHING about your entire existence ever going to be better then a constitutional republic?

OP was a trick question, there's absolutetly NO WAY for a dictator to be 100% fair to 100% of the population. No matter how good he is there are going to be people who disagree with certain conditions and decisions. We have the power to affect governmental policies and actions. You would lose that with a dictator.

On top of that America was born out of the tyranny of a monarch. I feel pride in standing up to unquestionable authority. If youre so ready to just throw away the ideals and principles (1 of which is NO DICTATORS) that made America the richest country the world has ever known then

Great dictator is an oxymoron. The type of character that would be a great leader and humanitarian wouldn't want to be a dictator in the first place. But perhaps if we had a bad dictator instead of bad presidents it would actually inspire people to rise up and change things with force instead of being satisfied with the status quo and the illusion of freedom.
