Ask her if she would invite her jewish friends to a summer tea party in a former auschwitz camp that is now a beautiful getaway spot

:francis:

Ooohh wow :wow::wow::wow:

Ol girl is whack for not attending because "it may affect her career"

If she has a problem with the venue then she should stand on her own objections and not pass the buck on to others who may or may not have issues with it. She's low-key soft shoeing here. :camby:

She initially did explain to her why in detail, while they were face to face. The white girl acted like she understood.

.I didn't post the entire article because that would be stealing.

White people picked cotton too....said cacette might want to do some research. Though plantations are lovely to look at (my grandfather was a farmer), the history obviously hits too close to home. Though to be fair, damn near everywhere you walk in a city. was constructed by indentured and forced slaves from one time or another. While the plantation is the "hallmark" for slavery, railroads, streets, cars, boats, and even trains are laden with history of slaves operating on them.

unfortunately this is true. Living in and being from Charleston SC, we got Plantations all over the place. :francis:

But they are good places to learn a lot of history and shyt you may not have known. Get black tour guides/companies when you do visit these places though. They give you the "real" scoop on a lot of shyt.

Was this the same chick who was marrying the black dude on a plantation and had him running all around like a slave or was this another plantation wedding?

Funny to me cuz I have a female friend who is Black, and she was showing me pictures of her brother's wedding. Dude married a white chick, and you know how with a lot of weddings and receptions it's the woman's family who pays for it, and the woman who dictates what she wants. They had the wedding on a plantation. Funny when she was telling me her voice got down to a whisper when she said "plantation" almost like she was saying a cuss word.

She coulda kept it a buck and told her "slavery :yeshrug:" no further explanation needed.

White southern women looove the idea of these plantation weddings. They're already oblivous, but I don't think that bullshyt about her "career" helped any.

Anybody got a cached version of the reddit thread tho? :pachaha: I wanna see it

To be fair, plenty of southern black men, host events at plantations as well. While it is the hallmark for slavery, the scenery is nice.

I mean there's barbaric history all over, in NY, Central Park is the creation of white and black slave owners, with plenty of atrocities happening all over during its creation, I still hangout there, and would host an even there. I don't let history dictate my every whim. But if its a soft spot for some, you gotta respect it, the dumbass in this topic was an idiot who thought she should be offended by a black person saying "nah I'm good at chilling in the plantation".

Not posting that piece of the article unfairly makes the black chick look like she's soft shoeing. :manny:

In her message, J said that when the bride-to-be started dating her now-fiancé two years ago, they began to discuss getting married at a plantation. But from the offset, the now-former bridesmaid says she brought her concerns to the bride.

"I told you then that I could not be a part of a wedding that happened at a plantation. I firmly believe that all plantations should be museums that highlight the atrocious injustices towards my community," J said. "We talked in great detail about exactly why I felt that way you told me that your love for me outweighed your desire to have a wedding at (plantation) and I wouldn't have to worry about it."

In addition to this, J said appearing at a plantation wedding could harm her career.

"To be pictured and seen at a plantation wedding could cause harm to my professional reputation and, as much as I love you, I cannot make that sacrifice," said the 25-year-old.

Good on the sister for not attending (even though she didn't take a strong stance and just explained it with "professional reasons").

Bad on the sister for having a neanderthot friend.
Especially bad on the sister for having a neanderthot friend who was close enough to invite her to her wedding.

And obviously fukk the racist cac and her entire family. Ol' "admiring plantations' beauty" ass demon.

I ain't mad at the bridesmaid reasoning, because she's right.....in this age of receipts....if she got high up the food chain, somebody would come for her head and use those pics against her.

At the same the country is built literally on racism and colonialism, so anywhere you step in this country has a "history" to it thay we would find fault with. So don't over every energy, because unless you going to too up all the pipes, buildings, remove the dirt, then It's all just history. It is what it is.

I've said it several times already the fact that there is an African American and Native American Museum in middle of the National Mall, between edificesc and structures to hypicritical founding fathers is the one biggest blows to those nefarious concepts that pervaded in their heyday.
