:ohhh:

You watched the Hawks last season?
:ohhh:

You saw him penetrating the paint and passing to the open man?
:ohhh:

You saw him initiating the offense?
:ohhh:

You saw him using the pick and roll?
:ohhh:

In this thread, dudes only watching Knicks basketball.

Listen, we've seen it. Same thing happened to Carroll, he was balling with the Hawks and moved to the ISO system in Toronto and was wack. He's thriving with the Nets now.

Hornacek is using an ISO system still. Hardaway can't work with that. Most of the guys on this team can't find their own shot. Motion offense is the only way to go.

And yet 5 years removed from our motion offense 54 win season we're not using a motion offense.
:hhh:

nikka STOP IT :laff:
HOW MANY ASSISTS DID HE AVERAGE LAST YEAR
INITIATING AN OFFENSE DOES NOT MAKE YOU A PLAYMAKER :mjlol:
you thinking he can be some type of andre iguadala type player is hilarious. he only averaged 2 assists in a pass heavy offense that was taken from the spurs which was predicated on ball movement.
2 assists per game is actually pathetic considering his usage on that team last year
you dont know what you're talking about
he does not have the vision to be a creator.
hornacek is not using an iso heavy offense...even with ball stoppers in drose and melo we averaged way more passes per game than the raptors
we have players with heavy iso tendencies that dont know how to create for others effectively...LIKE hardaway
its a heavy pick and roll offense...and when tim gets a pick...he puts that bytch up :mjlol:
aint no hitting a roller with that nikka.
please stop
i consume more basketball than 98 percent of people in this thread
edit: also notice a reoccurring theme....from last year...no vision having ass players missing kp on pick and pops repeatedly.

So what you're telling me is assists equals to playmaking?

:laff:

Just like steals equals a good defender
:laff:

The Hawks used the extra pass offense

NBA doesn't use hockey assists.

So now we had an offense that passed last season. Last season was ball stopping until the second unit came on.

I swear the narrative changes just to support this team.

All of that passing and where was the pick and roll until Jennings came on to the court.

Another season, more excuses for this trash team.

TIM HARDAWAY JUNIOR HAS NO VISION
YOU WANT HIM TO BE A POINT GUARD....I CAN LOOK UP HOCKEY STATS
did it for you.
tim hardaway jr averaged 0.5 hockey assists per game...IN A PASS HEAVY OFFENSE
you trying this whole angle of him being a playmaker is fukking hilarious and needs to be stopped.
you know what 0.5 hockeys assists lands him in the nba. ranked 200+ :laff:
the REAL playmakers in this league get 1.5+ in this league
hold this L
Players Passing
the offense is not the reason why tim hardaway jr isnt dishing and making high iq passes and ball movement plays
he himself isnt that good at it period...and he wasnt that good at it on the hawks.
we had an offense that was supposed to be predicated on passing...cause thats literally all the triangle offense focused on...when we ran it last year...we had ball stoppers ....you know...rose and melo
dont be dense.
roster composition is the problem with this team...not the offense we run.
we have a bunch of players whose skills dont fit an up and down tempo
i have issues with hornacek but his offensive i have zero issue with....
his defensive coaching is suspect.

Hmm 0.5, the same rating as Jamal Crawford, basically a setup man.

The problem, again is bringing Hardaway in as just a scorer. He did more in that Hawks offense than score, he facilitated. Same thing with Crawford, he breaks the defense down for his teammates.

He won't be playmaking here because here we play position basketball.

The triangle last year was aimless passing. We passed because we were supposed to, not to find the best looks.

You being adverse to giving Hardaway the playmaking keys is what bugs me. Having Ron Baker looking confused is the alternative.

It's early in what is going to be along season full of losses.

But:
- I didn't like the Hardaway signing, and I still don't. I hoped he developed the ability to create for himself a little more, and I'm not seeing that early.
- Kanter is an abomination on defense, and a black hole on offense.
- McDermott looks lost for stretches
- I have to assume that there is a directive from above to play KOQ big minutes early to try to trade him. OR that Wily was the leaker on the Horny/KP rumor.
- All of our point guards are horrible, and since we're not going to win you have to let Frank play through the mistakes.
- Porzingis remains great. But it's getting more and more obvious that he will ultimately play the 5, because he never gets out to a stretch or flex 4 to cover the 3. Though, he did play Melo tough when matched up, which was great to see. With better coaching, he could use the length to easily make up for lack of lateral quickness.

Really not a lot of highlights so far. Feels like they're playing at a slightly faster pace. But it's two games.

Settle in.

Don't worry Knicks already have a defensive specialist.
