What was the point of that trade?
[/QUOTE]He could've just not did anything then because
There better be a point we bush the entire coaching and development staffsGotta assume we weren't planning on bringing Doug back. Getting Mudiay gives us another year of a rookie salary for a 21 year old with upside. The logjam is worrisome because we KNOW this staff mishandled one so bad that we had to give away a cheap, rotation piece that fit our timeline. But in a vaccuum...it's a savvy move to turn nothing into a low-value asset that could become more valuable.
this is a dumb move if the team is serious about frankI'm not too mad at this.
McDermott was not staying in NY.
Mudiay is only 21 years old and although he's been poor, he has upside. Hopefully, Lee is traded and Frank gets minutes at the two.
I remember brehs saying you can't go wrong stacking young potential, especially in a rebuild era. I am willing to hold my fear about Frank's development until we see where we are at the end of the year.
Jack needs to get less than 5 minutes a game moving forward. Trey Burke needs to start and Frank needs to be the first PG or SG off the bench (assuming Lee is also traded.)
Kurt Rambis is about to unlock that potentialMudiay is a raw player given to a staff that hasn't shown will to play or any actual development of their current raw players. I still really like Mudiay's potential but two aspects of his development so far have disappointed me, still questionable finisher and never realized his defensive potential. If the Knicks had a staff that could build this kid up; he and Frank would be a really intriguing combo. But I don't trust them to develop anybody right now so it's a wait for whoever we bring in to replace Hornacek proposition.
Honestly, we should spend this last half hour trying to eat a salary and pick up another pick but they're harder to come by this year.
See, here in lies the problem.Lee should've been thrown in too then so we can try and get a pick. Also, I have no faith in our staff so all our youthful potential won't be reached
Tim looks like when he first got hereKP added to his game a bit but everyone else plays the same. We don't even get our young guys minutes despite that being the supposed focus in the off-season Kurt. Rambis. Is. Still. Here.Frank was our first pick and pg choice but, you'd think we chose him in the third round if you didn't know about his draft position before with how little he plays.See, here in lies the problem.
If we are going to accept certain things as set in stone, shyt looks real funny regarding even watching this team at all.
- Knicks should rebuild
- Knicks should acquire picks and young talent
- Knicks are untrustworthy with respect to developing talent.
- Knicks give no indication that they will change there development system/staff.
If you really accept those above bullet points then... nothing we do should ever be a positive.
How do you rectify wanting picks/youth if you are also concrete in your belief that we can't develop anyone?
