Breh, there is no way we’re getting kemba just by giving up jack and thomas lol. It’s gonna cost us frank, 2018 first rounder and us taking back one of their ridiculous contracts.
The Knicks wanna give up Lee and Willy for Kemba. I say, keep Lee and give up lance, Jack and Willy. We need our first rounders, I wish we would get Marvin Bagley or trey young.

I remember a lot of trade-up rumors that offseason but not the particulars. I do know that it's that draft and the aftermath that cemented my "Donnie Walsh gets overrated" stance though. He's still one of the best GM's since 2000 but that's a low bar to get over.

the thing i respect about donnie is he was very clear with his goals for the teams and he made the necessary moves to accomplish them
when he first showed up he said he was clearing cap space. at the time, a lot of people didnt think it was possible cause we were loaded with bad contracts
knicks started off hot his first season with the team, 6-4 or something like that and in the middle of the hype traded away crawford and zach randolph

he didnt fall into the excitement of the new team or try and make the playoffs or whatever, he stuck with the plan. donnie was terrible at drafting, and hired the wrong coach, but he put us in the position to sign 2 max contracts in 2010

now when lebron and whoever else flopped on us, things started to get a little messed up
but i gave him credit for putting us in the position to atleast be a respectable playoff team for a few years
sadly thats few and far between when it comes to knick gm's

Those two combined to really ruin his tenure imo and the only thing that would have saved it would have been landing Lebron. First, with Mike D'antoni who NEEDS a competent PG, he drafted Jordan Hill. He had the option to trade up for a number of PG's drafted (Rubio and Curry of course), stay put and pick Jennings or trade down and pick Lawson or Teague. Instead we got Hill, who Walsh included in the trade for that second max contract slot (along with picks and Jeffries). Once he made that trade, he HAD to come away with more than just Amare Stoudemire. The uninsured contract was part of desperation imo, same with all the Joe Johnson rumors at that time. Without landing Bron, it turns that draft pick and the ensuing trade into really awful decisions. On top of that, he responded to the news Lebron was going to Miami by trading David Lee for Anthony Randolph (bust) and Azubuike (medical retirement before he ever put on a Knicks jersey).

I agree with giving him credit on the run up to the Lebron sweepstakes though. That alone is worth more than any GM's after him with maybe Phil challenging since Phil didn't give up future picks which Walsh did just for cap space.

Looking at a mock draft that came from ESPN, and they have the Knicks taking Collin Sexton if he's there. I'd be pissed if the Knicks draft Collin if either of the Bridges, Knox, Porter or Jackson are still there, but some people really wanna see Frank be a two guard. I don't get it, Frank looks worse off of the Ball then he does with it imo, and he's had flashes of being a good pg in the future, he just needs consistent pt right now in order to develop. I'd take Trae Young if he's there though.

1. Sacramento Kings - Luka Doncic

2. Atlanta Hawks - Deandre Ayton

3. Phoenix Suns - Mohamed Bamba

4. Orlando Magic - Marvin Bagley III

5. Chicago Bulls - Jaren Jackson

6. Cleveland Cavaliers (via Nets) - Michael Porter Jr.

7. Philadelphia 76ers (via Lakers) - Trae Young

8. Dallas Mavericks - Wendell Carter Jr.

9. Memphis Grizzlies - Miles Bridges

10. New York Knicks - Collin Sexton

11. Utah Jazz - Mikal Bridges

12. Charlotte Hornets - Kevin Knox

13. LA Clippers - Robert Williams

14. Denver Nuggets - Troy Brown

edit:
10. New York Knicks

Height: 6-foot-2 | Weight: 183 | PER: 23.8

Frank Ntilikina has had some nice rookie moments, but the Knicks are finding out that the long-armed, 6-foot-5 guard is seemingly better suited playing alongside a more dominant ball handler and shot creator who can take some of the scoring responsibilities off his shoulders.

Enter Sexton, who looks like a nice pairing with his tremendous aggressiveness driving the lane, taking off-the-dribble jumpers and putting defensive pressure on opposing guards. NBA teams have some concerns about Sexton's ability to stay healthy due to his reckless style of play, and he has seemingly been dinged up all season, which hasn't helped matters.

Starting salary: $3,522,480

He's pulling a Rose:dwillhuh:? I hope all is well with him. I wonder if not getting any pt is bothering him or if it's family issues or something.
